Default Saints to Hire Rob Ryan as DC

Sources: Saints plan to hire former Cowboys assistant Rob Ryan as new defensive coordinator. (via @AdamSchefter)

What do you guys think? Good move or bad? The Saints also select a couple picks before us in the draft and need D-Line help badly. I bet they take the best DT/DE available. Could directly affect who we draft.

Good move IMO. I still think he's a good coach.

They're switching to the 34, it's a good fit.

And we all just KNOW the Saints will end up being top 5 in forced turnovers next season...

Agreed. Between signing Ryan and retaining Sean Payton, I'd say the Saints have had a pretty good off-season imo.

I think it's a great move. The pressure will be low with that high-octane offense.

We'll settle this with a good dust up.

He will probably gamble more and blitz more with their offense leading or capable of scoring so many points

He will likely have better luck there because the Saints' offense will take the pressure off of him and the defense which will give them the ability to be more aggressive. Of course this means we get to look forward to the endless "We should have kept Rob Ryan" rants next season as if the last two years of low turnover, bend and break defense never happened!

I thought we played a lot of pretty good defense this year.

How many buffets has Ryan visited during his 5 minutes of unemployment?

Ryan wasn't THE problem in Dallas this year, or even the last two years, but he certainly was part of it. Injuries were certainly a limiting factor this year, but not last year.

I expect a corner or olb more than a dlineman. They have invested a few first rounders on dlineman recently.

Great move for Ryan because he doesn't have to have a great defense for the Saints to succeed, just a good one.
