I'm getting hammered with pop-ups ...

I've ran Norton and everything ... I've never had this problem before. It is getting on my last nerve.

Would one of you techies come to my rescue?

I suggest getting and running....spybot and adaware....you should be able to get them for free if you do a net search.

Run both and let it delete anything it finds.

IF, and only after you have tried those, that does not work....then find a program called Hijackthis

My moneys on Coolwebsearch. This is a sneaky program that pulls this stunt, both to hit you with pop-ups and avoiding detection.

Yeager - I like MS' Anti-Spyware, however they recently bought Claria (Formally 'Gator"), which raised eyebrows at first. Yey they have now downgraded Claria's threat to ignore. Forget shooting themselves in the foot, as far as security experts are concerned Microsoft just shot themselves in the head. There's no defending this action!

Spyware Blaster
Registry First Aid
AntiVir
Ad-Aware
Windows Firewall
Bit Defender Firewall
and a hardware firewall....

It is sad it takes this much crap but it really does.
I got sick of having to rebuild the pc.
