Default Let's talk Philly. Philly fans chime in.

OK folks. We've got a tough, tough game coming up.

Some positives heading into the game. We've already played some tough games. Bledsoe is pretty decent. Witten looks good when given the chance. At times, we've been able to strike. Also, it seems to me that Ware is getting closer and closer. Canty is really coming around. Newman looks good. Pettiti is earning his money.

Negatives, FS. Several of you cried about this over the summer. I didn't think it would be this big a deal. I'm eating crow with every long completion. Which team will show up? The one that hung in there and was able to beat SD? Or the one that caved in against the Skins? TO may eat our FS alive. Punter (sad that I have to mention the punter but I did).

Philly fans, what are your positives and negatives heading into the game? How's McNabb's chest? (I personally thought the hit should have drawn a very serious fine)

Let's talk some serious football here. How do we match up? Anything the Boys might exploit? What is Philly licking its chops over?

Trott blitz's like 90% of the time, I'm hoping for a big day from Witten.

I have one question who can stop Witten on the Phili D. IT looked like when KC got the blal to tony Gonzalez he was effective, but KC just didnt stick with it. Can we ahve the same success?

This team is not there yet and this could be another blowout not unlike the MNF Game last year if the Coaching Staff plays it close to the vest.

The Eagles have too many units that have been together for us to beat them this year.

I think Owens will demand so much attention, that Westbrook and their Tight End (forget his name) will have alot of opportunities underneath.

I have watched Philly play about 3 of their games, and one thing I noticed is that Mcnabb has had all day to throw on alot of the passing downs and I dont see us being able to get too much pressure on him with our current scheme that is very easy to figure out. I think if we do get sacks, it will have to be coverage sacks or the defense will have to take chances.

Defensively, this defensive backfield matches up well against our Receivers and one thing about their very good DC, Jim Johnson, he unlike Zimmer, will not let you dictate what he does, he is going to bring it no matter what.

Talent wise, I think this team matches up well with the Eagles, although we are counting heavily on young guys on defense. But maturity, the "been there done that" factor, and extremely STRONG play at the QB position will ultimately beat us.

I never thought of McNabb as a hall of famer, more as a really good QB in his era. Bur right now, I have to say that he could make the Hall of Fame based on what I have seen in the last 2-3 Years.

But what is so frustrating is that we beat the Eagles in 2003, because we took chances like they did on Defense and Hambrick of all people didnt have alot of yards that game, but he was able to pick up first downs against them and of course Zuriel helped.

Gonzo only had two receptions. My guess is you'll see a mix of Michael Lewis and Dhani Jones covering Witten. Honestly, he's who I'm most worried about this week. I would be suprised if you see Trotter much 1-on-1 in coverage against Witten. We'll see.

As an Eagles fan, I'm most worried about getting consistent pressure on Bledsoe. Much like Collins when he killed the Eagles while he was with the Giants, Bledsoe is still a very good pocket passer when given time. The Eagles have a decent amount of sacks this year, but most of that pressure has been generated by blitzing. Only Patterson and Walker have generated consistent pressure on the DLine, and Walker is hurt. He had 2.5 sacks through two games, but has sat out the last two contests, and isn't a definite for the game. Kearse has certainly warranted offensive focus, as you'll see him being chipped, and then blocked by a OT, but Kalu has really not produced opposite of him.

My other big concern is that the Eagles generally struggle against 3-4 defenses under Reid. Take a look at the teams that implement a 3-4 scheme, and for some reason, it confuses the Eagles blocking schemes. If the Cowboys can pressure and rattle McNabb early, the Eagles will struggle because of Reid's unwillingness to run the ball. Regardless, they did a nice job blocking for McNabb last week, and they'll need to again because the prospects of an injured McNabb throwing 45 times again doesn't exactly thrill me.

Question because I haven't been able to see many Dallas games: Are you guys happy or disappointed with JJ so far?

Nice site by the way.

Im hoping we play with fire like our last meeting from last year where it went to the wire. If Drew is protected I expect a game like SD or SF. Yet this time around we have HFA. The rookies wont have our crowd noise to contend with like they would in Philly. If McNabb plays in a lot of pain and gets rattled early we might actually have a lead going into the fourth quarter. Anyways it will be close.

ESPN was saying that the number of 100 yard rushers were down league wide this year. I have no problem with JJ at this point, but it doesnt seem like he has what JJT likes to say "a little wiggle in him". Seems to be running to the line and falling down like Ham-Bone use to do.

That goes to show you the lack of respect people have for our receivers because we are not opening things up and when we do, it is way too late.

Im not saying throw all the time, but man take some chances besides deep outs and curls to the side lines.
