Default Where was the 4-3?

I don't consider DeMarcus Ware standing on the line a true 4-3 defense.

IMO, the 4-3 was the adjustment to make in the second half, to force McNabb to pass and put some serious size on the line. New England did it to them in the Superbowl, and Dallas 4-2-5 contained them in Dallas. Philly was running for the first time all year last night, and that had their best offensive unit, their OL, into the game and driving our defense backward.

I think Spears, Fergy, Glover, Ellis/Canty would have made for an imposing line and helped counter the well-playing Philly OL. Ware could have brought pressure from the OLB spot if needed-- I mean if you're going to stand him up anyway then give him some space. Instead, he was owned most of the night by a giant of a LT (except for one more bull rush play where he forced an incompletion).

Too often the DL was stood up and driven upright allowing Brian Westbrook to scuttle around as he pleased. You know something is wrong when Lamar Gordon is running on you at will.

I like the confusion the 3-4 brings, heck, Roy might not get that last pick without it, but the 4-3 has its place.

1 of 2 things happened to it.

Either Campo took it with him or we left it in Oxnard.

I was waiting for them to mix in some more 4-3 in the 2nd half as well. They did tweak things with lineup changes. Burnett seemed to play more in the second half. So did Dat.

They obviously made some changes because they only gave up two FGs in the 2nd half.

Shanle obviously looked ALOT better then Dat the human Pancake, minus the missed coverage when the TE went in motion...
We played alot of 4-2 nickle last time...Not 4-3...

4-3, 4-2 either way 4 down linemen was more effective the 1st game. We should have gone with it more.
Be excellent to each other....

You did not watch the same game I did.

Shanle was out of position, got sucked inside, was awful in coverage, he had the type of game where Jimmy Johnson would have left him in Philly.

Nice to see your personal bias, not cloud your judgement.

We played more 4-3 in our 1st game against them and it was more effective.

I really think a mix of 4-3 is appropriate at times vs. big OL's like Philadelphia's-- especially when they are committed to running like they were. I have a feeling Philly's running totally threw the Cowboys coaches for a loop-- that's a bad omen because change-ups are par for the course in division rivalries.

Shanle was blinded by the nacho man, honestly that play reminded me of when Roy did the same thing when Shockey got the TD in NY. Do you ever wonder if he thought the TE was himself going for a beer or what I mean he was in motion, it wasn't llike he was hiding..
