Default Ten training camp predictions

1) Bradie James does indeed beat out Coakley, though Coakley (if not traded for something) will still see ample PT in passing situations with the nickel defense

2) Keith Davis wins the starting safety job and does well enough that the team becomes conservative with Woody's return...once he does return Woody is relegated to mainly safety on early or running downs

3) no matter who wins the punting job, it will be vastly improved over last yrs Gowin disaster

4) Patrick Clayton becomes our primary kick and punt return guy, though J Jones will see some kick returns and Terrance Newman gets spot duty in certain punt return situations

5) Vinny Testaverde will emerge as the opening day starter at QB

6) Jason Witten becomes the every down TE and makes the probowl with a 50-60 catch season

7) Daleroy Stewart starts opp Glover at DT on opening day, turns into a quality starter for years

8) Antonio Bryant has a great camp and ends up starting opp Keyshawn Johnson, making Terry Glenn our #3 WR

9) Torrin Tucker starts the season at RT, but wont be the starter for the whole season

10) surprise cut of camp/preseason- either Randall Williams or Matt Lehr, though I believe Lehr would have trade value (late rd pick)...niether cut would be a "shock" but would be a mild surprise

i'll give you 3, 6 and 7.

1 and 2 have zero chance. at all. BP said himself that coakley is the starter. and keith davis played in NFLE last season and all of a sudden he's ready to start over woody? he isnt even the first option right now, the first option is tony dixon.

This is all opinion, but just for fun ...

If this happens I look for it to be later in the season.

The chances of this happening are slim and none. Quincy will be the starting quarterback for every game this season.

While he'll probably put up these types of numbers, Dan Campbell is a Parcells favorite and brings a certain dimension to the game. I think they will be co-starters, with a lot of 2 TE sets.

My money is on Carson.

This is a great scenario. A minor injury to Glenn during the season could also open the door for Bryant.

Tucker showed flashes last year, I think he matures with another year and nails down the starting spot the entire year.

I would not be surprised if Williams or Lehr do not make the squad. Vinnie could be a surprise cut of Romo really shows something in pre-season.

I agree with you on 2, 3, and 4.

nothing against your opinion but not only do I not agree with some of your predictions but, all of your predictions have just as much if not more of a chance of not happening than actually coming true.

A lot of what was posted are outside chances or go directly against what has been reported by the coach himself. Unless he has a change of heart, none of these predictions will hold true.

#3 appears the only one that could happen and even that has a chance of not happening. Gowin did average 39.0 per punt with about a 35 net. While that was near bottom of the league, it is still feasible for a rookie to come in and not do much better.

#4 is almost unthinkable. Crayton may make the team but why would Newman return punts this year if not at all last year? What would make Parcells play Jones on special teams this year?

Just a couple of thoughts.

sure none of them might happen, it was just meant to get discussion going...

on the other hand, unless you are privvy to info the rest of us are not I dont know how you can definitely write off all of them as having no chance...

Very good predictions!

I agree Dex will be more effective in nickle/dime downs...James moreso on 1st & 2nd downs...

I also agree, Davis is already a MUCH better defender in the passing game...Dixon should back up Roy at SS...Woodson in his last year....

Witten probably will be the starter...

Vinny should start, he can actually hit open receivers...

I also like Tucker to start at RT...

Not sure about the KO & punt returners, plenty of time to sort that out...

I think we keep Williams at WR & ST but Lehr is as good as gone...No trade value ether...too small...

How about...

Vinny ends up starting.
Eddie George ends up starting.

Team them with Key and we have the slowest offense in the history of the sport.

I bet we'd score more than 28 offensive tds in 16 games though

Isn't that the truth.

And maybe our FullBack will no longer lead the team in receptions.

1) 1/2 wrong James will play well enough in the next 2 months where he takes a lot of snaps from Dex. Dew will be the opening day starter but this is his last year as a starter with the Cowboys.

2) Nope, Dixon and Williams, or Williams and Woodson. Besides Everage will start before Davis, and I like Davis

3) Mr. MichaelWinicki, I think this man is trying to take your title as master of the obvious.

4) True

5) False

6) Yes, but there are a lot of TE that he has to compete with in the NFC

7) Stewart splits time with Carson

8) Not on opening day but by mid season.

9) Yes and no. He'll be the starting RT for the next 6-7 years. Put it on the board.

10) I think that T. Walters will be the surprise cut. In spite of his versatility.

1) Expect BJ to see lots of playing time but not start over Coak. If any LB gets injured expect BJ to start then.

2) Keith should start week 1 but that would be it. Woody isnt getting benched. KD could be the nickel safety allowing RW to move up to a LB spot in the nickel or dime.

3) I agree punting will be better. None of these punters have enough leeway to stink and we have cap room to sign a vet.

4) Patrick Clayton becomes our primary kick and punt return guy, though J Jones will see some kick returns and Terrance Newman gets spot duty in certain punt return situations----I agree verbatim.

5) QC will start again and VT will gets series in every game to stay sharp and throw a different look at the defense if only for a bit.

6) Campbell will still be the starter in anme but Witten could emerge as a top 10 TE in catches.

7) Leo Carson starts opposite Glover.

8) I do think AB gets a starting nod because Glenn is a better slot WR and they want to shift KJ around.

9) I expect Rogers to win the job out of camp and share time as Dinap and Lehr did last season.

10) I wouldnt consider either of your cuts a suprise at all. In fact the cut of Willie Blade already trumps both by a mile.
