Redskin fans, biggest homers of them all...
This may be moved to smack Talk. I am just ventalating....
All of you who go to extremeskins know what I am talking about. Most redskin fans are blind homers. The way they see it, Smoot is a probowl caliber cb, and he outplayed champ last year. The dline problems will all go away with coaching(this is their solution to most problems). Lavar arrington is the 2nd best Linebacker in the league. Their OL is best in the division. Half of them believe Brunnell is better than mcnabb. I just heard one say Taylor will probably end up better than Williams. ARE YOU KIDDIN ME? Roy was all pro last year, and he isn't playing in his best position half the time.

Taylor may very well end up better than RW IMO.

This man said Probably. Roy Williams could end up greater than Lott. Hell, quincy can end up greater than Montana*ducks*. What he said though, is that Taylor will end up better than the best Safety in football. Thats like saying Eli will probably be better than Peyton. Fitzgerald will be greater than moss. Winslow will be better than Gonzalez. Could they happen? Yes. Is it likely? No...

I agree, and i still would've agreed without the McNabb comment.
I like lavar arrington but he is not the 2nd best in the league. The most bemusing point though is about their O-line being great and Spurrier made them bad.
They were 22nd in the league with rushing average last year and Ramsey got completely pasted in the pocket.
I realise some of it is spurriers ridiculous play calls but to say their the best in the division takes the piss

Honestly - if he (Taylor) plays up to his potential - he 'probably' will be better than RW. I frankly don't see what the big deal is there.

Okay, I'll play devil's advocate..
"Smoot is a probowl caliber cb, and he outplayed champ last year."
** Smoot is an excellent CB and Champ is over-rated. I agree with this homerism.
"The dline problems will all go away with coaching(this is their solution to most problems). "
**Let's be honest, poor coaching and underachievment has been the Skin's M.O. for several years. The odds are that their D will improve (but I wouldn't say they still don't have problems)
"Lavar arrington is the 2nd best Linebacker in the league. "
** he probably is
"Their OL is best in the division. "
** c'mon that ain't saying much!
"Half of them believe Brunnell is better than mcnabb."
** McNabb is over rated, don't just take Limbaugh's word for it, but Bruenell isn't in McNabb's league anymore. McNabb is the best QB in this division(again, that ain't saying much).
"I just heard one say Taylor will probably end up better than Williams. "
**Wishfull thinking no doubt, but Taylor isn't exactly chopped liver, he was drafted #5 for a reason.

You do know they leave champ out on an island and roll their zone to Smoot, don't you? Smoot also plays a good 10 yards off the line...

Their D is improved, but their DL is to crap for. They're strength is run defense, and they are average at best at that

Derrick Brooks, Julian Petersan, Brian Urlacher...

I would take eagles OL anyday over theirs...

So should we assume Newman will be better than Bailey and Mcallister? I don't assume it, and Newman is much more proven than Taylor...

LMAO.
Yes, that board's mass hysteria-homerism is phenomenal. It is a surreal experiment just reading there. You find nothing like that degree of Stepfordian mind control at Pats.com, for instance, even tho with two rings in three years, fans have the right to drop the world "dynasty" now and again.
I've never seen anything, anywhere, EVER like the so aptly named Extremeskins.
Sometimes I wish tho, that their amazing ability to see and hype all a players positives, and turn the blind eye to all his shortcomings, could rub off on me. I mean, I would really LOVE to envision Terry Glenn as a 6'3", 215 full-field threat. Would LOVE to watch him ping pong off yet another defender on yet another mis- matched run block and call it "strategy".
Maybe in the next life the good lord will bless us too by running kool-aid thru our veins, 31.

Their offensive line isn't better than ours.
Their QB isn't better than ours.
Their FS isn't better than either of ours.
Arrington isn't better than Brooks (not even close).
Art is probably the worst IMO, his views are just so out there.
They have to have some sort of homerism after all these terrible seasons, everyone needs hope, you can't go around saying "Another 5-11 season, yeah!". Do they really think it? I doubt it. They know Brunell isn't as good as McNabb and they know their defensive line is terrible.
Jones could be a bust, Taylor could be a bust, Andrews could be a bust...right now it is all potential.
Gibbs is a great coach, the best in the divison (3>2), and a Hall of Famer, but are they better than us? Hell no. Do they think they are? Hell yes. Should they think they are? Yup.

The two best parts of the thread you are referencing:
Pick 55 "Greg Jones is a freak of nature".
"Taylor > Lott".
That second part is blind homerism.
Somone with a membership over there do me a favor, tell that Posse guy that Rolle was asigned to Fitzgerald. Idiot.
