greetings and salutations.
I have been a visitor to this site a couple of years now but have never been one to add my two-bits, though the cursed keystrokes method of communications. I have followed the boys since 1973 at the age of 5. Growing up in West Texas the Sunday practice growing up was church, and cowboys football. Well here we are, football time is upon us and an old villian has reared it's ugly head to defeat my happy time. When Direct TV came along 9 years ago it was a god send down here in Terlingua for football fans. Before hand game viewing was spotty with only an occasional cowboy game on the GIANT dish down at La Kiva.
For a couple of years I had the football package and believed life could'nt be better. But I switched service providers and went with Dish and was able to behold the wonders of Dale Hansen (who bores the explitive out of me with his bashing of Jerruh), Babe, and the other little cowboys related news, having the dallas local channels makes possiable. Well check this out, for two years I have been pursuing my masters degree in history, and will recieve it Aug. 14th. Those two years I worked a job at the Study Butte store and worked every Sunday so I had hard time catcing most games, so I Tivoed but it is not the same when if it's not live. Well now that I am done with school I have my Sundays off with my new job. Life is good right? Well not really because Dish network about 3 weeks ago informed me that they would no longer provide me with Dallas Networks. What!!! So It looks to me I have to go back to paying $200 freaking dollars a year to see 16 games, 4 or 5 of which can be caught on ESPN or ABC. My question to you wise followers of the beloved boys, is there another way? Or has the brutal fist of tyranny that is cable telivision, crushed my chances of keeping informed though the Lazy Boy and the remote control, which is my preferred method of absorbing my information. Reveloution I cry! Cast off the chains that denie me my Cowboys coverage.Viva Terlingua! ...... Err Excue me for my rant.
By the way, to all of you, thanks for the many hours of entertainment, you have provided me over the years. The insights range from insulting to enlightening and always they are spirited.
