Default Is running back a realistic possibility in the 1st round?

It is obvious that our running game right now just flat out sucks. My question to my fellow couch gm's - if the best player available on our board is a RB come our pick is RB a big enough weakness right now? or would you guys say we have bigger weaknesses. My opinion is we do indeed have bigger weaknesses, however, I definitely would love to have an impact player at the RB position.

IMO - there are way bigger fish to fry than RB, as much as I think Julius is worthless. Barber is more than adequate.

IMO/FWIW of course.

There is no formula for success except an unconditional acceptance of life and what it brings.

I wish we could rebuild the o-line, The jets and the eagles both did pretty well going oline in the last draft. I would love to see us have a better core of guys in there.

Fix the OL, Fix the running game. Although I think Julius is probably beyond help at this point.

Our offensive line and finding somebody who can pressure the quarterback has got to be our biggest concern.

Its all about who we like.
I think RB is a priority but not the highest.
But if there is a player avail we like, it wouldn't surprise me.
I don't think JJ will be here much longer.

They actually have a 6'4 260 LB beast named Demarcus Ware but he needs another manchild on the opposite end. That's why I had hoped the Cowboys would have drafted Wimbley or Lawson last year in the draft.

Best player available. Although I'd like us to go either Oline, DT, or maybe even CB. But if a runningback falls to us and he is the best available...take him. We can always use JJ as trade bait...although I think the main problem is with the line.

Learn from the Cardinals. They got Edgerrin James and their running game still svcks. Moral of the story: the key to a running game rests with the offensive line and not the runningback

Possible? Yes. Probable? No.

This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

If Lynch falls to us, I would seriously consider it, but I think we need to go w/ OL or CB or WR. Of the three, the priority will be determined by what we do in FA and what happens to TO.

Use FA to upgrade OL, DE, DT, DB, fix both sides of the line first,,,then if draft the best player available, if its a RB, WR, QB, takem..

Then Fire the OL coach and clean house on the defensive side.
