Rd 1 - 025 - Jets trade up to the 14th pick overall in the first round.

Jets trade the Carolina Panthers it's #25 in first round, a 2nd round pick (#59) and a 5th round pick (#164).

With the #14 pick the Jets take - Darrelle Revis CB, Pittsburgh

BIOGRAPHY: Three-year starter awarded All-Conference honors every season since his sophomore campaign. Defensive numbers last season were 39/2/4, when he also averaged 8.6 yards on 22 punt returns, with one score.

POSITIVES: Well-rounded defensive back with outstanding upside. Jams opponents at the line, slows their release off the snap and plays strong at the point of attack. Fast pedaling in reverse, is fluid in transition and runs with opponents everywhere on the field.

NEGATIVES: Soft in the underneath coverage and occasionally gives up some easy receptions in front of him.

ANALYSIS: Impacting the game at both cornerback and as a return specialist, Revis offers terrific size/speed and ability for the next level. A first-round choice with starting potential who should immediately help returning punts.

Jets trade 2nd round (#63), third round (#89) and 6th round (#191) picks to get Greenbays second round (#47) and 7th round (#235) picks

David Harris LB, Michigan

BIOGRAPHY: Two-year starter awarded All-Conference honors as a senior after leading the Wolverines in tackles, totaling 96/15/3. Junior totals were 88/7/1.

POSITIVES: Tough, instinctive run-defending linebacker. Forceful up the field, takes good angles to the action and flies around the ball. Consistently fills the correct gaps in run defense, stays with assignments and displays good instincts.

NEGATIVES: Struggles in man coverage. Gets caught up in the trash moving laterally. Has injury concerns from the past.

ANALYSIS: Taking his game to another level last season, Harris was the hard-working leader of one of the nation?s top defenses. Has starting potential at the next level, most likely on the inside of a 3-4 defense.

It was expensive to move up for Darrelle Revis, but I think it was worth it considering they were also able to get David Harris. I expect both players to pan out and alone think it was worth the price.

I give the Jets a B+. Landing Revis alone was worthy of a B.

I had this as one of the worst drafts.

Paid way too much for Revis, then turned around and did the same for Harris even though I think he'll be a player. The Jets aren't going to catch the Patriots with only two draftees.

worst drafts? i had this as 1 of the best drafts.. they landed 2 guys who WILL be starters for a long time... how can you grade that as the worst? because they didnt have 10 picks? they got 2 very good players.

Revis wasn't even close to the top corner on my board and surely wasn't worth what the Jets paid for him.

Harris struggled a lot despite being surrounded by tons of NFL talent.

The Jets needed a half dozen pieces to compete with the Patriots and Colts. They added three (if you count Jones). They needed to continue to build a base for a year or more before they moved up in the draft looking for the missing links.

This draft isn't going to help them much short term and is going to hurt them long term. To me that's a bad draft.
