I am not touching that one. It does remind me of a Simpsons episode when they go to the CN Tower (paraphrased)
Tour Guide: The Tower is closing, sir.
Homer: Would this American dollar change your mind?
Tour Guide: Wow, what time do you want your breakfast, sir?

good one. Nice avatar BTW. Somehow I have a feeling that if the NFL could it would find a way to black out MNF when the Cowboys are on.

What's the problem, Canadian dollars aren't considered real currency?

ok, i go smart off somewhere else and an old time friend steps in.
the main point is if your cable company can provide it, direct tv, echostar and the rest should also. it's just that laws come into play because of "revenue". how the nfl breaks up it's tv contracts and how it tells the networks it can broadcast it.
it's not like FOX or anyone else is sitting around going "gee guys, what game ya'll wanna do next week?"

I know fans of other teams that are just as upset about this as Dallas fans. I pay for Sunday Ticket because I want to know where ALL the games are playing for sure on Sunday. I want to be positive I can see all of the Cowboys game. I am having problems understanding why what is showing on a local has an effect on what is being shown to DirecTV. They should be seperate entities.
The cost to DirecTV to manually feed games to various areas of the country has to be costly for them. Networks around here change their mind on a whim what they are going to play.

...here goes. I can accept that local ad revenues are an issue, but if the second half of a CBS double header is not available in your area of Canada, and the listing for NFL Sunday Ticket says the game is to start at such and such a time, shouldn't you get the feed?
Who's local or national ad revenues are we muscling in on? Global TV in Canada only has a early game contract with the NFL. After the first game there is no other national Canadian brodacaster carrying an NFL game. The latter half of a double header should not be encroaching on any Canadian brodacaster.
This is suppose to be part of the beauty of living in Canada, we get to watch your entertainment, but not live in your country!

They have ruined the Sunday Ticket this year with all the blackouts.

I may be wrong, but I think this is a way for directv to strong arm people into subscribing to the local channels. I live in Virginia, and I got the game on my DTV local channels. I could not watch the game on the Sunday ticket channels. I complained about this all weekend, but what can you do?? This was not a problem last year and I don't think any new laws have been passed since then. This is all on Directv. IMO.

If you have Sunday Ticket on Cable, you will be able to see the Cowboys game. Global (and the CH stations) provide games for both the 1 and 4pm games.

Some people here claim that this was in effect last year. It wasn't for me. No games were blacked out last year. I would gladly get locals if I could, I can't. I have no idea what DirecTV is trying to do.
