Is running back a realistic possibility in the 1st round?
It is obvious that our running game right now just flat out sucks. My question to my fellow couch gm's - if the best player available on our board is a RB come our pick is RB a big enough weakness right now? or would you guys say we have bigger weaknesses. My opinion is we do indeed have bigger weaknesses, however, I definitely would love to have an impact player at the RB position.

IMO - there are way bigger fish to fry than RB, as much as I think Julius is worthless. Barber is more than adequate.
IMO/FWIW of course.
There is no formula for success except an unconditional acceptance of life and what it brings.

I wish we could rebuild the o-line, The jets and the eagles both did pretty well going oline in the last draft. I would love to see us have a better core of guys in there.

Fix the OL, Fix the running game. Although I think Julius is probably beyond help at this point.

Our offensive line and finding somebody who can pressure the quarterback has got to be our biggest concern.

Its all about who we like.
I think RB is a priority but not the highest.
But if there is a player avail we like, it wouldn't surprise me.
I don't think JJ will be here much longer.

Henry HAS been toast lately. I don't know what has happened to that dude but he has not been the same since his injury last year.

If BP is still here, we will go for an outside linebacker followed by a TE.
He will look at the scrap heap for another lineman and probably overpay for a washed up veteran. He will try to find our next superstar WR in the undrafted FA list. He will also justify his draft misses with the UFA guys who made the team this past year.

I'd put it as a decent priority, but I just want one stud back there - no more platooning.
I think we might have to go DE again, if the right player falls. After that, maybe NT or CB.
victory is ours

And what RB in the league is going to do well with the blocking we have.
A better question is whether we would go interior line in the first. It wouldn't be a sexy pick but if there is a nice G who can play a bit of T, it would be hard to pass up.

We had that chance two years ago (Steven Jackson), Good thing we got Spears by trading down for J.J. Now we have a mediocre RB who cant see a hole for nothing, and a DE getting outperformed by fourth and sixth round picks.
