Prepare to be flamed.
I see what you are saying, but my only reservation about Quinn is that he's never won the big games. And I wonder how well he will do when he is not in the comfort zone of Weis' offense.
But Kolb has challenges of his own. He was a "system" QB that had inflated numbers and as for big games, I doubt he played in one to lose.

That's "The 2006 C-USA Champion Houston Cougars" to you, buster.
Imo Kolb has tremendous potential, but here's going to have an awful lot to learn. He has played in Art Briles' unorthodox offense since he was in hs at Stephenville, so he's going to be a project at the NFL level. What he does have is poise, athletic ability and yes, "moxie".
Marshall's lack of size will keep him from being drafted, but I could see him making an NFL squad as 4th or 5th wr and/or a kick return specialist. He's explosive, and has above average hands.

I'm just glad we don't need a QB in this draft

The Cougars haven't had the pass-happy system for a while now. I'm not sure when the system changed, because I didn't really watch them until very recently. In 2006, they actually ran more than passed.
I was very high on Quinn in 2005. I thought he was going to develop into a special player like Palmer or Manning. He just regressed in 2006 (relative to where he should have been) and was disturbingly inaccurate at times.

Quinn is far readier at this stage to step into the NFL than Kolb. BQ has been running a pro-style offense for two seasons, while KK has played in the same gimmicky offense (at least by NFL standards) since he was in high school.

Yes, it is true.

I remember last year two of the guides I bought, one being the espn draft guide had Orien harris as a 1st round pick. Saying he would be a dominate interior player, specifically in a two gap system.
Some of those magazines get away with murder.
I like stanton and edwards and would love to see them fall to us in the third round, I think edwards has a chance to be there in the third round.

While I can't totally disagree with all of this, I'd be remiss to not point out that his OL seemed to regress tremendously as well. Many of those errant throws occured while he was running for his life. Just saying.

Maybe but many of his errant throws were completely unforced and were not particularly difficult throws.

Many is probably stretching it a bit, but Quinn definitely wasn't as sharp in 2006 as he was the year before.

Its clear now that the O line for ND way overperformed in 2005. ANd then probably showed its true ability in 2006. BQ was running for his life a lot in 2006 compared to 2005.

Marshal just as a KR or PR would be worth a second day pick. Hester showed what a great return guy can do for you this year.
