Default Denver Broncos Picks

Rd 1 - 021... Denver trades 1st round pick (#21), 3rd round pick (#86) and 6th round pick (#198) to Jacksonville to get 1st round pick (#17)

[color="Blue"]Rd 1 - 017 - Jarvis Moss DE, Florida

BIOGRAPHY: Moved into the starting lineup last season and totaled 56/11/7.5, winning All-Conference honors. Used as a third-down specialist the prior year, finishing with 25/9/7.5.

POSITIVES: Gifted pass-rusher who is slowly pulling together a complete game. Breaks down well, plays with good pad level and is fluid moving in every direction. Rushes the edge with speed, effortlessly changes direction and makes a lot of plays in pursuit.

NEGATIVES: Possesses a thin build and struggles against big offensive linemen. Marginally productive until last season.

ANALYSIS: A sensational athlete and a disruptive force in the opponent.s backfield, Moss is a defensive line prospect with a large upside. Will start off his career as a conventional pass-rushing defensive end, yet has the ability to move to different spots on the line.

Rd 2 - 056... Tim Crowder DE, Texas

BIOGRAPHY: Four-year starter awarded All-Conference honors every season since his sophomore campaign. Senior totals were 59/19/10.5, with three pass break-ups. Junior numbers were 50/3/9.

POSITIVES: Athletic base end with a complete game. Plays with good pad level, is fast off the edge and displays skills in pursuit. Quickly changes direction, is fluid out to the sidelines and makes plays in every direction.

NEGATIVES: Lacks bulk, is slow getting off blocks and can be controlled at the point by tight ends.

ANALYSIS: A dedicated prospect with great work ethic, Crowder has shown continual improvement. Less than desirable size/speed numbers will push him out of the first round, yet he could start in the right system.

Rd 3 - 070... Ryan Harris OT, Notre Dame

BIOGRAPHY: Four-year starter at left tackle.

POSITIVES: Athletic, quick-footed blocker with outstanding range. Solid pass protector who makes effective use of angles, effectively works his hands, and plays with leverage. Displays good punch, jolts opponents and possesses solid quickness.

NEGATIVES: Has average size and strength. Marginally effective in motion. Gets beaten at times when he should not. Struggled with disappointing play last year.

ANALYSIS: Harris has the tools necessary to play either guard or left tackle in the NFL but must first improve his strength and consistently play to a high level.

Was it really necessary to give up picks to move up from 21 to 17? Besides the Cowboys, were there other teams that wanted Jarvis Moss that badly? I think he would have still been there for them at 21..... *thumbs down*
