The reason the Bears wanted Thomas Jones instead of Anthony Thomas is because Lovie Smith is installing the St. Louis Rams/Kansas City Chiefs offense, and they need a Faulk/Holmes type of receiving threat at RB, while Thomas is better suited for ballcontrol.

If a trade like this goes down, it tells me the Cowboys are not very fond of the RB's on the board after Steven Jackson. Most analysts have said its a weak year for OT's and RB's. Anthony Thomas might be better than everyone in this draft after Steven Jackson.

It all depends on what that "other" pick would be.

Because he's head and shoulders better than any tackle after him in this absolutely pitiful offensive line draft, and there's no way he falls past the Dolphins at 20 (at the latest).

Default that's not horrible

its not great, but its not bad. if we move up to 14, i would rather go after deangelo hall or chris gamble though. i'm not thrilled about andrews either but value wise...its not a bad trade.

atrain showed he can do pretty good with a good oline...don't know what happenned last year. if they do this, expect michael turner to be drafted int he 5th round.

It's an OK trade IMO. Thomas is a solid starting RB and fits Parcells' style. If we make this trade, Parcells obviously has watched plenty of game tape on Thomas and is comfortable he would do the job for us. I'm not too sure about taking Andrews though at 14. Good player and he would help but I'd rather get better value at 14. I'd prefer a guy like Wilfork or possibly one of those CBs at #14.

As long as we keep our 1st rounder next year, there's always a way to re-coup a 2nd or 3rd rounder by trading down.
