I guess me and you are the only ones that feel this way. As deep as I have been hearing this draft is, I've been wanting to find a way to load up on 2nd round picks, obviously the higher the better.
The Dolphins 2nd pick is the 32nd pick this year because of New England losing its pick. In essence, its still a first round pick. Their 3rd round pick is in essence the last pick in the 2nd round for the same reason.
Ending up with the 28th, 32nd, 56th & 64th pick doesn't seem too bad to me assuming we can evaluate talent. Lots of picks to work with gives us lots of options.
I do wish we could do this on draft day so we could see how things were sliding before we pulled the trigger, but the P-Fins may not go for that

**** THAT! If Miami wants 22 they'll pay what the Browns did last year or keep walkin'.
The Washington Redskins.............where former Pro Bowlers go to suck.

I'm with you. Jerry has done Parcells enough favors, no more screwing around.
We need wins, and that's all we need. I don't give a damn about anyone on this roster over wins. I'd trade Ware, Lee and Dez if it meant more wins.

I would do that so fast, Big Bill's head would spin.
(Unless DRC were still on the board.)

I'd welcome a trade down from #22, but I'd expect a similar deal as last year. If Miami wants the #22 pick trade us the top pick in rd 2 and their first next year. But I'd only do this trade if the following guys are off the board (as well as obvious guy I won't bother listing like Dmac or Chris Long).
-Rashard Medenhall
-Jonathan Stewart
-Dominique Rogers Cromartie
-Mike Jenkins
-Aquib Talib
-James Hardy (no way he lasts this long imo, but didn't want to create confusion cause many think he'll last)
But imo it's more likely a team tries to trade up to 28 for Joe Flacco. Who ever doesn't get a QB in rd 1 (Miami, Atlanta, Kansas City, Baltimore, Chicago, Carolina and Minnesota are all posibilities). It's unreasonable to expect a 2nd and a 1rst from a team picking in the early in rd 2, but if it's a team out of the top 10, I'd get the deal I expected at 22.

I'd actually strongly consider that with Miami.
But I wouldn't make that selection with #28.
Actually, if the deal was right and the valued players were off the board for us at the positions we were looking for at #22 and #28..
I'd trade down with both our #1's and do trades similar to this.
If there is as much deep talent after the 1st rd. as many are saying, I'd definitely think we could pick up as many as 5 more picks in the 2nd and 3rd rounds for our two #1's to go along with our own picks in those rounds.
That would let us rule the deep rounds and pluck alot of talent at affordable prices.
We don't need starters, what we need is quality depth that could be starters in the next year or two. and to take some snaps in the meantime.
I'd trade them both and grin as long as our scouts really had rds. 2-4 dialed in and we had picks at the tops of those rounds to play with plus our own.

Ya right. Not trading away one of our picks and then using the other one on a RB. Won't happen. Maybe if they had said we were drafting a WR or a CB, but we're not going to pass on those two areas of need and settle for a guy at a position where we already have our eyes on a greater prize.

Yea.. I think that there is precedent that shows a first rnd pick can only be had for another first rnd pick the following year, both Dallas and NE have done this.
However I would be willing to give them 22 for both seconds and 6th this year and their second next year
#28 can be had for just both seconds and 4th next year
I like piling up future picks wherever possible.

I'd wrather have 3 2nd's this year than the extra 1st round pick. The only person i could see us targetting with such a high pick would be Michael Crabtree. However since theres no promise he will enter the draft next year i say we 2 the two seconds and pick up quality players that would also be helpfull.

We won't get the same deal the Browns gave up because of the guy they're draftign, meaning the Browns thought Brady was a top pick but had to go with the sure thing L.T., then we the top 5 prospect fell, they had to overpay for him, I don't see Dan Connor as a guy a team would OVERPAY for like Brady Quinn last year.
I'd trade down with the Dolphins if the top corners are off the board and Malcolm Kelly is gone, cause the guy you could get wiuth pick #22 would be pretty comparable to who you'd get 10 pciks later, and if we could pick up an early 3rd rounder or something, I'd it no problem!

It's really a 1st and a late 2nd if you think about it because the Dolphins 2nd orund pick is basicalluy the pick the Patriots had to forfeit and in a NORMAL YEAR would be the 32nd pick in th edraft, thus a 1st rond pick, and the 3rd rounder is the 1st pick in round 3 similar to a very late 2nd rounder, so you're picking up an extra pick at the very end of round 2 basically for trading down 10 spots in round 1 and MOST LIEKLY still have the guy you want on the board when you pick at #32 instead of #22 sicne depending on team needs, we could get our same guy at #28 that we'd want at #22 then get the same guy we'd want to take at #28 at #32.
