Houston Texans 2008 Draft
• Pick No. 26: Houston Texans select Duane Brown, T, Virginia Tech
Pro analysis: The run on offensive linemen continues as the Texans pick up Brown after moving back in the first round. David Carr's problems in Houston were well known, but Matt Schaub was also under a great deal of fire last year and missed five games. This could also signal that promising tackle Chris Spencer may never make it back from a broken leg suffered in 2006.
College analysis: After starting his career as a tight end, Brown became a stalwart at offensive tackle for Virginia Tech. He retained much of the athletic ability he showed as a receiver when he moved to the interior. He is still developing those offensive line skills which give him some upside, but also cause some concern about whether he will face too much of a transition to the NFL.
