I don't know if someone else has already posted this or brought this to anyone else's attention, but here we go.
I was channel surfing this morning before leaving for class, and saw something that made me do a double take.
I flipped back to channel 73 on my Dish Network, and starred in disbelief at the station name. OBAMA.
Yes, a 24/7 Obama channel. In the 30 seconds that I watched the station, they were detailing the sugar coated story of his early existence.
Correct me for thinking this is a little ridiculous. I realize it's probably a ploy by his campaign organizers trying to muster up votes for the channel surfing population out there, but has anything like this been done before?
It's not necessarily unusual for political parties to have their own tv station of blocks of TV on certain channels (hell, our major news stations basically do that now..) But I mean, the last time I heard of a political leader having his own TV station was Saddam Hussein.
Am I making too much of this? I just think its kind of outrageous..
The first thought that came into my head was.. did MSNBC change their name?
If anyone wants to see for themselves and has Dish Network. Check Channel 73...
