I'm sure the Cowboys, if they decided to keep Dex, can find him a suitable position on special teams.
The voice of reason! I'd trade him for a 4th in a heartbeat.

This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

He's clearly at his best in the box, thats almost undebatable.
Injuries! Injuries! Injuries! That is the bottomline for the 6-10 record.

I agree Lab. I stood next to him after the Skins game and I'm actually bigger (esp the gut).

So Nors, I'm not saying I'm Roy ok nor do I have his physique. I'm saying he's not big enough to play LB every play all season. It's right where he should be.

He can blitz from safety and be more effective than playing OLB anyway.

Also as importantly, who in the heck are you going to get to play S with him at OLB. We need two more safeties already without moving him.
Did you know there are only 5000 Snow Leopards in the wild now and they are confined to Central Asia? However, the effective global population (those likely to reproduce) is less than half that number.

Use New England as an example.

The Patriots win with veterans who have pedigrees like Coakley. Much of their team is made up of smart, versatile, veteran players who understand their roles and put their egos on the side for the good of the team.
Well, here’s a big difference between Coakley and the New England LB’s

Mike Vrabel 6’4” 261 pounds
Teddy Bruschi 6’1” 245 pounds
Ted Johnson 6’4” 253 pounds
Willie McGinest 6’5” 270 pounds
Roman Phifer 6’4” 248 pounds
Roosevelt Colvin 6’3” 245 pounds

Coakley is 5’10” 233 pounds.

The average linebacker for New England is 6’ 3.5” tall and 253 pounds. That’s and average of 5.5” inches taller and 20 pounds heavier than Coakley.

Furthermore, their OLB’s in the 3-4 scheme typically are Vrabel, McGinest, and Colvin. They are an average of 6’4” tall and 258 pounds.

We play him at FS
I agree Nors, it couldnt hurt to try him out there, then put Roy in his natural position, what does the team have to lose? If were going 3-4 then Dex is already here and willing to play, try him at FS.
The toothbrush had to be invented in West Virginia, if it was created anywhere else it would have been called a teethbrush.

Because dex is too slow to play FS...He was quick in the day for a LBer, but he isn't anywhere near fast enough to play FS...

We just need to move on with bigger tougher players at LBer.

Thanks for your time here dex & dat, but lets go to actual NFL sized backers now as we move back to DOOMSDAY, not zimmy's DUMBSDAY!
