at this point, it doesnt seem like we're interested in mckenzie or law at all, so lets hope pete steps up his game. with a last name like hunter, he could get a nice nickman real fast.

If Hunter and Blade become studs this year I will really start to buy into BP's philosophy of player deverlopment. Seriously...there a few CB's we can get if we really wanted...and if we pass because BP thinks Hunter will step up and he does...my faith will be reinstated in this lost art.

He was so badly burned on critical crossing patterns last season that I am at least greatly concerned.

It's impossible to tell if he'll translate his abilities into becoming a star CB, but I share your enthusiasm. I watched Pete Hunter play while he was in College. I went to 4 games he played, the only players I ever saw in person that dominated like Hunter were Leftwich and Allen Iverson. I watched almost all of Leftwichs High school games. I made trips from DC to Virginia to watch Iverson play street ball and high school basketball. They were something special. I didn't think Hunter would stand out in the NFL because he dominated a rather weak collegiate division.

I hope he becomes a star.

I became sold on Hunter upon reading the article about the scouting trip to work him out. He didn't have his shoes for the workout and borrowed a pair that had the cleat spikes protruding up into the inside of the shoe. Still he did everything asked of him during the workout.

This showed a lot of guts and determination and a true desire to succeed. Couple that with his size and speed and I've always believed that all he needs is enough playing time to adjust to the NFL game.

I met him at an autograph signing and he is also a truly nice guy.

There is a chance he won't pan out, but I'm betting he will.

Great Post!!! I have always been a big supporter of Hunter!! I also remember that story about the shoes. I am very excited to see what he can do at CB this year. Let's just hope he stays healthy and gets a chance. Yeah he has been beat a few times, but he always makes plays too. Hopefully as a true CB and with some more experience he will make more plays and get burned alot less!
