Default A formation thread unrelated to the numbers 3 or 4 in any order.

One offensive formation that gives me hope for production this coming season is the talent we have in a single-back 2 TE set with Anderson deep.

We have two very versatile options at TE, Witten is the faster one and the better receiver, Campbell is just a beast as a blocker but is underrated inb the passing game. Anderson, of course, is an accomplished receiver, blocker, and has had sucess running on draws. Keyshaun Johnson specializes in moving chains and also happens to be about the best downfield blocker among receivers in the game. Either Glenn or Bryant could be good on the other side, Glenn is the better deep threat, Bryant better over the middle.

The strength of the package, in my opinion, is versatility. Any of three people (Anderson, Campbell, or Witten) could pass block, without detracting from the quality of players running routes, and (going on faith in Witten's case) do so effectively. Also, Anderson would have good blockers in front of him and freedom to chose his hole when a run is called.

I am also wondering if we will use a power I with two TE's, Martin and Anderson, with just Jey at WR in short yardage. If Jones is as good as I hope, I would use him intead in that set to give us a better chance at breaking a long one. It is an odd connection to make, but Keyshaun's downfield blocking ability is part of what makes me excited about Julius Jones' rookie year.

nice post, i think we can be very versitile in getting first downs, i'm not sure we have the game break type player though. lets hope AB steps up and gives us that dimension.

Default Suprise TE

Watch the kid from BC

Sean Ryan - he has a nasty streak and has a Mark Bavarro style. He will take Whalens roster spot.

Another good Blocking TE is always welcome. We had some sucess with 3 TE sets last year, hopefully this guy will make it unnecessary to use Robinson.

In any case I think the 2 TE Single-Back set is at its best on 3rd and 4 or less. Much more than four and the running threat fails to be a major factor.

You know Hos there is a lot of truth in that. Yeah the Cowboy news is good but you can get a lot of that anywhere. I like the wise-cracks and comic relief. The world is much too serious.

He's also a western New Yorker, he knows how to play in inclement weather.

He could be a nice addition.

I think we will see a lot more power I and 3 TE sets. With sean ryan, witten and campbell they all recieving threats as well as good blockers. There are many ways they can be used to boost this offense.

All of the scenarios in the anchor post of this thread are predicated on someone getting the receivers the ball.

Until that piece is solved, the rest is moot.

Or for the great unwashed here on Fantasy Island...mute.
