FYI, I havent posted any "misleading" articles...I posted an actual story and link and just added a comical comment or two...

What do you think QC's QB rating would be in practice against our converted 3-4 defense?

quote from the article:
But just because so many more teams will play the 3-4 front in 2004 doesn't necessarily mean they will play it well. As Phillips found out the hard way in Atlanta, where his unit statistically ranked 19th in 2002 but faded to last in the NFL in '03, you can't camouflage deficiencies forever, can't succeed with smoke and mirrors all the time, if you don't possess the appropriate player components for the 3-4 scheme. For all his talk of quickness overcoming size shortcomings, Phillips struggled because he tried to play the 3-4 with 275-pound ends, and that is a poor fit.

What Phillips did is irrelevant to what Parcells knows and will do

In regards to personnel then, I would like to know who on our current roster, is the Pass-Rushing linebacker? Therin seems to be the greatest flaw. Both of our DEs are Ends, not LBs. LaRoi Glover certainly is not a Nose Tackle.
I'll listen if we sign Gildon. At the moment, out LB corps is about as badly suited to the 3-4 as any team's in the league.

Not to mention the fact that our best D-lineman Glover would be a man without a position.

3-4 DE's LB's
Look at Pats pieces
Vrabel, Chattam, Phifer, McGinnest, Bruschi
All are role players. Bill is stockpiling the names you will revere in 5 years.

"We have plenty of 3-4 DE's. We have guys who can play the nose. Don't have the depth at LB. Looked at hybrids in draft. Just missed on one. Will look at it in camp." He Has said on 2 occasions now Glover can play the nose.

His press Conference from April 30th. Find it and listen to it.
"We are not switching defenses."
