Mike Williams or Braylon Edwards are ours if we want em.
Ok so the Vikes have the #7 pick and the Skins the #9. If we really want one of these 2 WRs we could move up. We have 2 1st rounders so if we really wanted one of them we could trade our #11 and #20 to move ahead of the Vikes. But would it be worth doin that. I dunno. If we are gonna be movin around in the draft this year I would like to see 1 of 2 things hap.
1. We trade up and get someone like Edwards or Williams.
2. We trade down and get another teams 1st rounder for the 2006 draft.

This draft is not that great to being giving up 2 for 1.

Nor are we that desperate for a WR considering all our other holes.
If one of them drops to us, great. If not, BPA at 11.

We could look at it 2 ways. If we did trade up for Williams or Edwards we would be gettin a good player and it could be worth it. But if we trade one of our 1st rounders this year to another team for their 1st rounder in 2006 that could really work good to. Tuff call but either move would be a good one.

JMO, but that is exactly why you should do it if you really wanted Edwards or Williams.
That's why they play the game

WR is not life or death for this team's success.
Would it be great to have Williams? Yes, but we have way too many holes to be giving up 2 picks for a position where we our pretty deep.

I think we are pretty well positioned in this years draft considering how weak the top 10 is. I would take either D. Johnson, Merriman or Pollac (sp?) with the #11 pick if we are going 3-4 (and I have the feeling we will). Then try to get either Williamson at #20 or Clayton in the second round. If neither of them fall to us at those slots then continue to draft defense. If Williams or Edwards fell to us at #11 and the defensive guys were off the board then I would take either of them.

Merriman is someone Id like but here is the prob. If he was to go to almost any other team he would probaly do real good. But if he comes here he would probaly end up bein a nobody for one reason...Mike Zimmer. Zimmer would find a way to ruin him even with the all the talent Merriman has.

I think that at 11 & 20 there will be some player(s) who the Cowboys are so surprised and happy that slid to that pick that a trade could only happen if it were an offer to good to pass up i.e. (Sharper and K.B.J), (S.Rice and D.Smith), (Woodson and Porter). (Law and McGinnest for #20), (D. Grant and C. Jenkins) you know
...H. Walker for a bag of peanuts
could happen

I would much rather keep the 11th pick, grab the best player available and trade down with the 20th to get some more picks.

Thats my plan too.
Draft Rolle, PacMan or Merriman at 11.
Trade down from 20 to late first/early second and reap extra picks.
But I still don't know what any team saw Thursday night that would have made them comfortable with waiting a round or two for the offensive lineman they wanted. ---Todd McShay
We just converted half our LB to DL. We have a 30m starting DL, it better be pretty friggin good.

It would be nice to get another WR, but DEFENSE wins championships, and that is where the Cowboys need to concentrate. Ok, you can add a RT for offense.

Edwards > Williams
Merriman > Edwards > Williams
Johnson > Merriman > Edwards > Williams
WR should not be our priority.

NO way it would be worth it. It cost to much. We need several players and giving up draft picks isn't the way to get them.
This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.
