injury prone means you are always nicked up with something here or there...he missed 8 games one yr with a broken wrist and 3 games last yr...otherwise he's played in every game

Dat isnt a probowler and a 2nd rd pick isnt a sure thing

Howard is NOT injury prone.

If you're going to be afraid to pull the switch b/c of injury, you'll never get anything done.

You have people *****ing the last 10 years that we have no pass rush and the minute we can grab one of the best in the league and STILL have 2 first round picks, we don't make the deal?

THAT, is a headscratcher IMO.

If you want to ruin the franchise by giving up a starter and a second rounder for a guy that may cripple the cap by being forced out of football by a known condition, then by all means, go ahead.

Without help, Dat is barely average.

11 sacks in 12 games is elite.

I don't know how you can compare the two.

Pass rushing end is one of the hardest positions in football to find and MLB is one of the easiest.

but I bet you thought Philly giving up 20 mil signing bonus for Jevon Kearse was a great move, right? and Kearse IS injury prone

Do you not realize how devesating a back and/or neck injuries can be?

There is no denying those are the conditions he missed time for last season, but you conviently left that out.

This guy could very well sign a huge contract and be forced into retirement halfway through the season because of a bulging disk in his neck.

I may trade Dat straight up for him but they wouldn't even sniff a draft choice.

Dat has some of the best instincts in sniffing out the run. He is not that fast, but he seems to know exactly where the ball carrier is going. That is how he racks up his tackles. It works very well when the d-line is doing their job. He could have a career high in tackles now that Ferguson is on board.

That being said, his instincts in the passing game suck. He rarely makes any big plays against the pass. He is also a poor blitzer. The middle linebacker position for the Dallas Cowboys is a replacable position. Dat may be underrated, but the middle linebacker isn't as important to the Cowboys success as it was during the flex defense days.

he missed games 1,2 and 7...he had his best games in December (6 sacks in 5 games)..if he had the "devastating injuries" you were crowing about I doubt that would have been the case

EXACTLY - and for those worried about FS - that is another relatively easy position to fill.

A pass rushing DE is the HARDEST postion to fill (aside from perhaps QB) in the NFL.

We've been trying for 10 years to fill that need w/out any success whatsoever and some are worried about not being able to get a FS???????????
