I wouldn't mind bringing in Hand now that Blade has torn his Achieles Tendon. I think we need another wide body in there and let Carson backup Glover. Of course this would depend on the contract; I would just offer him a journeyman type contract.

I agree (as do most posters on this thread) that the Blade injury changes things somewhat.

If Hand were here it would strictly be on a rotational basis. I'm not sure what the going rate is for an 11th year vet, and it may not be worth it.

On the flip side, it may be worth discussing with his agent to see if a vet min with no bonus is worth exploring.

Carson and Hand would be a nice pairing to give our Starters a breather.

Certainly not a priority though.

If Blade was too fat to play for Parcells, I don't see how Hand could cut the mustard even heavier and ten years older. Remember Parcells saying he's going to be much more demanding in training camp this year. I doubt Hand will be able to pass the conditioning tests.

Did anyone see that HBO Real Sport's piece on obesity in the NFL that showed Hand saying doctors told him he wouldn't live to see 50 at his current weight?
