Its just stupid because you're like "We used to sign all these great free agents like Charles Haley and Deion Sanders and so many others, and now we don't anymore."

When the reality is Charles Haley wasn't a free agent, but was traded to us. And Deion Sanders was the only major free agent we ever signed.

There wasn't "so many others". So this whole thread makes no sense.

We've since signed solid players to free agent deals, but I can't think of any team that has signed that major free agent stud that made an incredible impact on their team.

Therefore, this whole thread is pointless.

You're trying to talk about something that isn't worth talking about.

You make some good points but maybe he was trying to say that Dallas doesn't do more to acquire superstars even through trades? Last year the Eagles picked up Terrell Owens which was a blockbuster for them.

Of course, we did try that with Joey Galloway and look how that worked out.

I don' t think it's a dumb topic. It's certainly more interesting to read than "Say we trade a 2nd and a 3rd to New Orleans for Howard, we can then package that...."

No thanks

I started this thread becouse on the NFL Network today they were replaying the 1992 NFC Championship game with the Niners and it reminded me of all the talent we had in comparison to what we have now. I thought it might be a good change of pace instead all the "Howard" threads we've been seeing.

Since 1993 only a few great great players have been acquired via trade or free agency, so don't sweat it. Reggie White. Deion. TO, and now Randy Moss. You can probably list a few others, but not many.

Trades and free agency have been better suited to rounding out a roster defined through the draft.
