I think we're well positioned in the Draft with our 11 pick and may get lucky.
I'm just glad we didn't have the top pick this year! I think that is going to be a difficult decision and a difficult pick to trade as well.

The top two picks are probably coveted in San Fran, Arizona, Miami and Cleveland for the two top QBs. If we were picking #1 it would be easy to trade down about 4 or 5 and still get Braylon Edwards or Marcus Spears.

Do you really think that Bill wants to wait five minutes to get his water during training camp?? Come on, look at his first pick the last two years, Newman the track star, and JJ, a speedy rb! I doubt that this really has anything to do with his picks, but I do find it kind of ironic.
"Can we get Drew Bledsoe back out here just for a week, so you guys can fall back in love with Tony? Let's sign Drew Bledsoe back for a week. Because sometimes when you have a pretty girl for so long, you forget how pretty she is. But when you put an ugly girl next to her, 'Oh, no, I'm really doing well.' And maybe we need to bring Drew back, so we can back to 'Oh, no, we're really doing well.'"

Spears doesn't excite me at #11. If you're that close to the Top 10, you better be a playmaker. "Can play anywhere on the DL" and "can be a DE in 4-3 and 3-4" only means he is serviceable. I want a sack master, not another Greg Ellis.

I think you can get quality O linemen later in the draft. With all of these teams switching to 3-4, you better take the DJs, Merrimans, and Spears early and often.

I get all the votes for Volers/Tucker playing RT. But we need depth too. Rogers is an appearent bust, from what I've read - not at all living up to expectations in his work ethic. And Peterman is still a question mark. Gurode is a backup Guard and I see Tucker and Vloers the same (as very good backup linemen). But we need to draft an OT that has starter-ability, I firmly believe that.

Mike Williams!!! IF he is still there by SOME miracle...
When asked about his mobility-
"When one of these running quarterbacks wins the Super Bowl, then I think that'll be a lot more valid."- Drew Bledsoe 2/23/05

If we actually BUSTED that hard in last years draft with Peterman AND Rogers, it gives me nightmares of what could happenwith this draft.
Bill really needs Peterman and Rogers to work out this season atleast for quality depth along the O-line.

I think Flo is a pretty solid LT. I wouldn't mind Brown at 20 though, although I'd prefer a receiver.

That is how I feel! I would like to have Merriman because he can be a sack artist. Play end in the 4-3, and pass rushing LB in the 3-4. Derrick Johnson would be great if we got Howard before the draft. One thing about Howard, can he play LB in the 3-4, or not? Can't remember if he can or not. If so, then get Howard, draft Johnson, and draft a wr with #20.

NO to Barron at 11...he may have more potential than Brown but I like Brown at 20 much better because he is more polished, both are freaking monsters anyway.
Here is how we should have our board pegged
1) Mike Williams
2) Derrick Johnson
3) Merriman (IF and only IF, we don't get Howard and plan to play merriman at DE)
4) Rolle (he'd make a scary FS and we'd have the best secondary talent-wise in the league) Rolle is too good a player to pass on and he could back up at CB also.
5) Trade down (with consideration given to Williamson if there's a big run on WRs early and Spears if we don't get Howard
Still left to accomplish:
sign OT Winston or G Moore

i think dallas could pull off the coup of the draft:
#11 - spears DE/DT
#20 - brown RT
#42 - tuck DE/OLB
we'd be tough up front on both sides of the ball and opposing QBs would actually fear us again. i love the sound of that.
