It's one of those old school coaching techniques. Maybe teaching him how to stay low. Deion was amost in a crouching position every time he lined up against receivers. Maybe it's a flexibility exercise. Just guessing. I sure would like to know.

If I remember well, this exercise is to make sure the CB place his body in a good line to tackle and not depend on his speed and arms/hands.

This is just a small part of what makes up great coaching. Something Campo knew nothing about.
This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

Putting a broomstick behind the back (I've never seen it done with the bristles still on the broom!) is a coaching technique that allows the player to see the alignment of his shoulders. I'm not sure what that particular drill is that Jones it doing, but it definitely appears that he's trying to get his shoulders pointed straight at the ground. Perhaps it's some type of drill for blitzing or rushing a punter or kicker, where he has to dip his inside shoulder to get around the blocker.

Peterman and Rogers both need to bulk up. I'm sure they will be lean and mean in a year or two. Also, BP does look like he has slimmed down! Good for him. I think this is why he likes being around the game. Keeps him near a gym.
