Happy Birthday SI.Com latest

11DE/OLBShawne MerrimanMarylandJr.6-4250In our initial mock, we had the versatile Merriman going to the Cowboys with their No. 20 pick. But his "tweener" skills would seem a perfect fit as Dallas prepares to use a 3-4 defensive scheme at least some of the time in 2005.

And at 20, they have us taking...

20 WR Roddy White Alabama-Birmingham Jr. 6-1 207

With the defense getting help from Merriman at No. 11, the Cowboys need to find a big-play receiver. White is the draft's second-best burner after Williamson. Oklahoma's Mark Clayton should be another consideration.

Merriman and White seem to be the general consensus. So why is it that I don't think the draft for Dallas will fall this way at all?

because we will be trading down with that 11th pick trying to scoop up another 2006 1st round draft pick

If M. Williams is available at 11, Baltimore wants a dance partner to move up. I could see their 1st, 3rd, and next years 1st as compensation.

And then send that 2006 first from the Ravens (valued as a 2005 2nd) to N.O. for Howard...
