I remember mentioning Riley Cooper instead of Shipley in a thread a few weeks ago and almost everyone laughing at it. ( I think Bob was the only one who agreed)

Cooper is bigger, a little bit faster, a great blocker, and can be had later in the draft.

That is more the Cowboys style IMO. Value shopping in the draft,

Teams talk to a TON of players every year. Trying to gauge what that guy can do, how he conducts himself, if he picks things up quickly, if he is willing to play ST.

People make it like everyone we talk to, is a player we will probably draft.

I think a lot of times the guys they talk to are just guys they are interested in but have something they aren't sure about. Whether it's mentality, physical injuries, w/e.

I've asked for that info too, to no avail. But off the top of my head I don't remember us visiting with Mike Jenkins, when he was definitely a target and according to Hos, the #1 CB on our list.

I still don't believe that the slot is where Riley Cooper best fits.

Cooper also was a standout on special teams. He could take over Hurd's role while developing as a receiver.

I'd be happy taking Ford with our 2nd rounder.

If we do draft a WR, it definitely helps if he can play STs as well. With Ford, he can take care of the kick return duties right away.

Also, Ford's speed would be a great complement to Austin and F Jones in the offense. Garrett can use Ford like the way the Pats used to use D Branch or the way NO uses D Henderson.

In any case, Ford could contribute right away - even if it's STs and a few packages to spread the field in his rookie year.
