This is simply for entertainment, nothing more, nothing less. The comparisons thrown down by another poster in another thread made it seem like it would be a fun idea to see where everyone thought the player would be in 3-4 years.
If you're being honest and not just BS'ing around, you should take into account size, speed, stats, body type and most attributes you can think of. I'm not going to do a bunch, just a few of the top prospects in the draft.
In any case, here goes...
Alex Smith - David Carr
Aaron Rodgers - Jeff Blake
Cedric Benson - Stephen Davis
Ronnie Brown - Fred Taylor (minus the injuries)
Cadillac Williams - Thomas Jones
Braylan Edwards - Charles Rogers
Mike Williams - Keyshawn Johnson
Troy Williamson - Quincy Morgan
Mark Clayton - Derrick Mason (minus the punt/kick return skills)
Heath Miller - Brent Jones
Alex Barron - Fred Miller
David Pollack - Greg Spires
Shawne Merriman - Simeon Rice
DeMarcus Ware - John Abraham
Travis Johnson - Jimmy Kennedy
Derrick Johnson - Tommy Polley *ducks and covers*
Carlos Rogers - Troy Vincent
Antrel Rolle - Dre' Bly (just taller)
Pac Man Jones - Phillip Buchanon
Rack will probably tear me apart for the Pollack to Greg Spires compairison, but seeing as how they are both 'undersized' I felt it was the best comparison. Although I don't believe Pollack will ever be a sack machine, I believe he can be solidly in the league like a Greg Spires.
I wanted to compare Antrel Rolle to Charles Woodson, but that is becoming so cliche it's pathetic.
I tried to be as different as possible from most comparison, while still being as close to what I think these guys can/will be in the coming years. Although the Mike Williams to Keyshawn Johnson comparison is inevitable. Who else is really like those two with the height, weight and speed that actually produce in the NFL?
I'm sure in 3-4 years I'll look back on these and smack myself, heck I may look back on it in a couple of hours and realize I messed up pretty bad but ah well, I gave it a try.
