Who says Ware can't play OLB in 4-3
He's athletic and played Saftey in college

I certainly wouldn't say he can't....but I don't think you'd take a guy who played his career with his hand on the ground at #11 if you were going to designate him as an OLB who has to drop into pass coverage...I think the Spears selection is the best indication that Ware will play DE when we're in a passing situation if using the 4-3 and OLB rushing the QB from the 3-4...if he can also play 4-3 OLB, that will just be a bonus.

Spears is not a top DE if you're looking for a pass rusher...that's not his game....he's definitely here for DE in the 3-4 along with Ellis.

As to another question, I think Glover can still play some nose when it's a passing situation to rest Ferguson, and he'll try some 3-4 DE in certain situations...I don't look for him to play as many downs as he did last year.

The guy in Dallas reporting the selection, told us it was Spears about 1:30 before it was official, so he clearly was informed of this by the war room....he also reported that this was exactly how Dallas wanted it to fall, that they'd actually inquired 2-3 times about moving up for Spears with no luck....he said Dallas is definitely now moving to the 3-4 since they got the players they needed.

As the 42 pick came up, I wanted a WR, but I also couldn't help thinking we still are short on LB's for the 3-4 and considered we might take Dan Cody for another stand up guy, but then it was Burnett.

also, if Ware can play 4-3 LB, we lose the very reason we drafted him, rushing the QB....a 4-3 LB may blitz once in a while, but he has to play in coverage more often because you've already commited 4 guys to the rush.

Ware's greatest value as a QB sack monster is as a speed rusher at 4-3 DE or as a pass rushing OLB from the weak side in the 3-4....

It would be real cooky

To draft Ware a DE and make him a OLB in a 4-3

Even cookier to draft 305 Pound 3-4 DE Spears and put him at 4-3 DE.

4-3 Clan - let it go we arre moving to 3-4.
Notice no Howard trade today

Dallas is going to adopt a 3-4. Ware is a PASS RUSHER!!! That is why they drafted him. He will be DE in 4-3 and OLB in the 3-4.

They will NEVER put Ware at OLB in a 4-3. Mark my words. Now, they might use some sort of 5-2 once in a blue moon with Ware on the edge. but Ware cannot be a pure OLB in a straight 4-3 scheme.

nors, it would be even cookier to make your best players go into something they are not comfortable with and being forced to trade one.

The nice thing about Spears, Ware, Burnett is that it gives the team multiple options. Ware can play DE/OLB. Jerry mentioned him as a DE in his PC. Spears can play 3-4 DE, 4-3 DE/4-3DT. Burnett can play 3-4 OLB and 4-3 OLB.

Many options, not just for now, but for the future, which is part of building a team and a defense.

that is why Ware is not going to be playing any OLB when Dallas is using the 4-3. He is a OLB in the 3-4 and a DE in the 4-3.

WARE IS A PASS RUSHER!!! THAT IS WHY THEY DRAFTED HIM!!! THEY ARE NOT GOING TO USE HIM AS AN OLB WHEN IN A 4-3 SCHEME. THAT WOULD BE SOMETHING THAT HE ISNT COMFORTABLE WITH

They will do what NE does, and use Ware like Willie McGinest.

James has to be the guy to move inside and he has to figure out how to plug the correct hole and find the ballcarrier...he really stunk on the outside.
Burnett is a OLB.
I still want Ahmad Brooks next year to replace Dat.
Still left to accomplish:
sign OT Winston or G Moore
