I think Jackson will go in the third (near Matt Jones) and level of competition means less to me when you're talking about a skill position player with "out of the box" measurables like Jackson's. He reminds me of a thicker Clarence Moore, the 6'5 WR from Northern Arizona who was a 6th rd steal for the Ravens last year. Also, Gates' season in San Diego is going to usher a run on basketballers with proven football production. Position is less relevant in the red zone.

Mike Williams played in pro style offense at USC with Coslet/Chow and has proven himself against some of the best DB's in college football...that's the big difference here. Comparing Jackson to Williams is a bit ridiculous don't you think? As far as Vincent being a steal in the later rounds...well so could a lot of other small school receivers. It really doesn't make Jackson a better prospect just a more sexy one.

In 70 games he's caught 311 passes and 25 TD's, which comes out to about 4.4 catches a game and 5 TD's a year....WOW!

BTW, he didn't even play last year.

Go figure
Uhhh, 4.4 catches per game works out to SEVENTY catches a season...

What's so "pathetic" about that??

Yes, I do think its ridiculous to compare Jackson to Williams as a prospect. That's why I didn't do it. You noted his scouting report weaknesses and 40 time and I simply pointed out that they were similar to Williams'. You discount his small school production and think he's a day two pick; I think he's a third rounder, maybe OUR third rounder is we acquire one and don't sign a FA WR.

For the record, there is NO other small school prospect with Jackson's hands, leaping ability and size/speed ratio. Yes, he's raw, but he demonstrated at the Senior bowl practices that he could compete with the big boys and everyone acknowledges that he is a monster. Three years ago, he would've been badly downgraded because he doesn't fit the WR mold. That won't happen this year.

When you're 8th overall pick in the 1999 draft and already on your 3rd team...it's pathetic.
