He is simply too impressive a physical specimen.
He was a top 10 recruit in the state before a brush with the law and failure to meet grades.
He was BY FAR San Jose State's best athlete.
He is 100 times better than Keylon Kincaide and all these other scrub backups we have.

He can be the opening day kickoff/punt return guy.
Typically we have atleast a couple of UDFAs who make the squad every year. He's probably a high probability.

Well, give us the dirt on his trouble with the law, JT. He looks to me to be a guy that will be given every opportunity to win the return duties. I hope the guy has experience catching punts.

We'll probably keep 3 RB's. Julius and Barber are going to get 99.99% of the carries. The remaining player will be the one who contributes most on special teams. Lee's been given two years to show what he can do, and he still can't retain the playbook or his blocking assignments. Time for a new project.

I hate go off of memory and slander a guy but my best recollection is he stole some stuff from his old high school.
He was a TCU signee but didn't make his grades, had to go juco then to San Jose State.

blurb from 2001 star telegram:
Hours after being declared academically ineligible to play football at TCU, the nation's seventh-ranked high school running back recruit sat in jail after being arrested for allegedly stealing weights from his old Irving High School

I'm too cheap to pay 2.95 for full article but it confirmed my memory of the situation.
But I still don't know what any team saw Thursday night that would have made them comfortable with waiting a round or two for the offensive lineman they wanted. ---Todd McShay
We just converted half our LB to DL. We have a 30m starting DL, it better be pretty friggin good.

I think him and rector make he squad as return men. Which is great, I am glad we didn't draft these guys, getting players that can play real positions instead of a player who sucks on his regular position but can be return men.
"Can we get Drew Bledsoe back out here just for a week, so you guys can fall back in love with Tony? Let's sign Drew Bledsoe back for a week. Because sometimes when you have a pretty girl for so long, you forget how pretty she is. But when you put an ugly girl next to her, 'Oh, no, I'm really doing well.' And maybe we need to bring Drew back, so we can back to 'Oh, no, we're really doing well.'"
