Stand up now and receive your props if you were hyping him for the Cowboys.
Julius was a sleeper pick for me. I watched lots of ND because they have the contract with NBC. He is my type of back. Short, powerful, great vision. Does legitimately remind of Emmitt in style and size. Is actually fairly identical to ES in size and is quite a bit faster in the 40.
Had Julius not sat out a year for grades he might have been the first back taken. JJ had good games against good teams last year including topping 200 yards against Pitt which has 3 or 4 NFL to be defenders.
On the downside ND couldnt pass at all so Julius didnt get a lot of balls out of the backfield and he didnt pass block much. He looks proficient at both things juts isnt proven at them as say a Steven Jackson.
I am perfectly OK with Julius in round 2 where we got him and feel he could be the offensive rookie of the year when you combine his skill with the Cowboys obvious need. He is undoubtedly a day 1 starter and water boy.
He has an idea of what it takes to be a pro because his older brother started his career slowly and had to work through being a bust to now being a legit starter.
