ARLINGTON – The City Council today unanimously agreed on a site for a new Dallas Cowboys stadium, but they are keeping the exact location secret until next week.
Mayor pro tem Ron Wright said maps of the stadium and the parking lots will be released Monday after affected property owners are notified. City employees and representatives of Pinnacle Consulting, the firm hired by the city to help with land acquisition, will personally deliver notices to property owners on Friday.
"The citizens who live over there have been in limbo since the election," Mr. Wright said. "We owe it to them to notify them first."
The land chosen for the stadium is expected to include mostly residential property southwest of Ameriquest Field in Arlington. It's expected to be an area bordered by Collins Street to the west, Division street to the south, Randol Mill Road to the north and Johnson Creek to the east. Most businesses along Collins Street, however, will not be affected, officials said.
