History says DeCastro will be there. In the past 23 years, here's where first round guards have been taken:
19, 24, 17, 19, 16, 14, 25, 23, 10, 26, 17, 30, 32, 23, 29, 15, 17, 25, 23.
I like the idea of two, young, high caliber offensive linemen being cornerstones for years to come. DeCastro is #1 on my board of realistic draft choices, especially now that Kirkpatrick was caught with weed.

I could care less about Kirkpatrick's legal troubles because we should take DeCastro anyways. Draft him and sign Nicks or Grubbs and OLine goes from a glaring weakness to a great strength on this team. Totally worth it, even if DeCastro is a reach at 14.
Smith - DeCastro - Kowalski - Nicks - Free
That's a great OLine. You have to take that opportunity if its available.

Agreed.
I would only flip DeCastro and Nicks to keep them at their position they played.

I'll take Dont'a Hightower in the second round no question. I'd trade up to get him if he lasted that friggin long.

There would still be good choices on the defensive side of the ball. Unless we do not sign a top shelf guard in FA, no way do I consider DeCastro, or any other guard at the 14 spot.
And if we don't address the O-Line in FA, I must assume the coaches are pleased with the players we have. On the other hand, if we get very active signing plenty of help for the defense in FA- then maybe O-line does place top priority on draft day.
Oh, my goodness. It is all speculation for now, anyway. But at this point, Kiper is full of crap in my opinion.

Kiper has us taking
Dallas Cowboys
* David DeCastro, OG, Stanford [View Full Quote]Last year, the Cowboys got Tyron Smith at No. 9 overall, and that pick helped them turn over the offensive line. The results were pretty good in 2011. With DeCastro, the Cowboys have a chance to solidify the interior of the line, helping both the running game and protection for Tony Romo and make that unit a strength. The way I see it, the Cowboys have good pieces in place at every other spot on the offense. The talent at wide receiver and tight end is fine, Romo was quietly among the top-performing quarterbacks and there's plenty at running back. Doubling down on the O-line should be an option for Jerry Jones. If the value is there, Dallas could also target the secondary.

Dre Kirkpatrick ... come on down ... Jerry is gonna love you.
**** JJ 2013 Draft Board ****
1) RB ... gotta get a felix replacement
2) DB ... need to replace Jenkins
3) WR\TE ... need more offense

Cleveland giving up on Colt already?
Tampa bay giving up on Blount even though he was quietly one of the best RB in the league last year?
Those two jumped out at me as reaches. I know everyone is high on DeCastro now but I want no part of a G in the first round, especially if it's going to be addressed in FA.
God help the AFC if Pitts or Balt get Burfict. A lot of teams will be regretting passing on him if he goes to one of those teams.

Burfict will probably be there ... a lot of people think hes a headcase and will drop accordingly. Suggs and him on the same defense really would be scary.
