We went after the biggest Free Agent prize last year, why wouldn't we try to make a splash again? Granted, we swung and missed. I think we are still capable of hitting a homerun. Mario would be one for sure.

Not really. As a DE in the Texans nickel and dime packages Mario was effective. As an OLB...not so much. Imo Mario needs to sign someplace where he can play DE in a 4-3.

And what if that place is here?

I just would love to see Mario in a Cowboys uniform. I honestly think that he will go for a high price but nothing just to insane.

I would also move Ratliff to DE to help improve the pass rush as well. Brent is big enough and has shown flashes of being a solid NT in this league it is time to give him a shot. I know that I didn't really address the oline to much but I feel like this would provide a decent upgrade to what we already have in place and get rid of the atrocious play in the middle of the line. This would also instantly upgrade the secondary and provide us with a solid squad at the position for years to come.
|
You might need to switch the 2nd and 3rd picks in your mock. Zeitler was projected as a 3rd rounder, and didn't do much to distinguish himself at the Senior Bowl. Of course, that would mean taking CB in rounds 1-2. Can't see that happening either. If they trade down from the 2nd round pick, then I could see them taking Zeitler.
There's always more to the story.

I'm o.k. with re-signing Spencer as well. I'd look to upgrade Coleman at DE instead.
At Safety, not sure what the team will do, but I'd prefer a Safety with more range than Elam (and playmaking ability).

Webb is a RFA which means no chance

To small?
Is revision or flowers to small the answer is no. I would take either. I prefer small quick fast. PHysical cbs over taller sleep with cbs. When you play man cover and often left on an island like the cbs are in ryans defense you need fast quick cbs that can mirror and stay with any we.
I don't know why everyone thinks you must have a cb that is tall, and usually tall cbs have stiff hips and are usually zone cbs.
People need to stop looking at size and start seeing how they play and fit the system this team runs. Jenkins and Boykins fits the system very well.

Ah yeah and so does TJ Ward who is super small fora safety. The both guys that Ryan drafted. Ryan likes physical smart players, and that doesn't mean tall players.

He looked pretty good to me; and what we need from his is Pass rush; that is the vital ingredient we MUST have.

A lot of guys lose some of their explosiveness when not being in their "sprinter's stance".
Needless to say I'm not dropping any coin on the guy.

I'm not really for spending huge to get Williams...
but he'd be rushing with his hand on the ground an awful lot. I don't think that would be much of an issue.

Garrett sez no to Jenkins. No boneheads allowed.
Garrett to players: Make today a great day; go about the business of winning! If you can't keep up then don't step up.
