Three guys who have something to prove and how their interview process will be important.
Vontaze Burfict
Janoris Jenkins
Kellen Moore
Lets see, Burfict. Noted hot-head, flag machine and trouble maker. I can see that. Maybe he should also address why he hasn't played up to potential. Yes, probably needs a solid interview.
Janoris Jenkins. Kicked off of one team. Okay, I can agree with that. Funny, the dude reporting has literally nothing to say to follow up Jenkins so he says, "what's his story, why was he kicked off the team?"
And then there's Kellen Moore. No behavioral problems. Regarded as smart and hard working. Lets see, what else. Has displayed great amounts of maturity, was recently married, has strong family support and ties evident by having his younger brother following him to Boise. Oh, and is pretty devout as well.
Kellen Moore needs a strong interview? Lumped with those guys?
Kellen needs a strong workout. I have no doubts that if teams were waiting on the interview to talk to him that he'd knock it out of the park and they'd be sold on him.
Come one, joe. You need to quality check these vids!
jk, thanks for the link.

I think Kellen Moore needing a good interview is more about football IQ. I dont think theres any doubt that hes a good kid. Teams will more than likely ask him football related questions. A QB that is limited physically has to be smart to get drafted. A team will be more likely to take a chance on Moore if he proves he knows how to read a defense, pick up a blitz, and other field general type things. His offensive playbook in college didnt really call for a whole lot of this.

???????? Really? The reason that Boise St. is able to consitently beat four and five star laden teams like Georgia, Oregon, V-tech, OK etc. is that their schemes are very complicated. There is no doubt that Kellen's football IQ is through the roof.

Moore shouldn't have been on the list.
It was the like was stretching to grab 3 names.
Moore is a system QB without a big arm who will be off some teams boards altogether but coveted by others. How he interviews makes no more difference than it does for any other QB.

Sure Boise State's offense is complicated, but its far from a pro scheme. He rarely took a snap from under center, dropped back and read a defense. RG3 has the same concerns, but is an extremely gifted athlete with a rocket for an arm. Moore ran a very unconventional offense in college + he is limited in size and arm strength. Its not a good combination. Hes going to have to prove he can run a pro style offense and that starts on paper and film.

Lots of NFL teams run things other than "pro style offenses". Kellen played in the Senior Bowl and showed up in the game. He makes throws before the WR even breaks as they commented in the game itself. He also has about a billion collegiate snaps. He has to overcome physical limitations not "Test" well.
I am not sure I'd draft him. But it has nothing to do with his football IQ.
I'd be worried if he can make enough throws by NFL standards to keep defenses honest. You can umbrella coverages versus guys with weakish arms.

Yeah, that is a pretty ignorant statement about Kellen Moore. The kid who started breaking down game film with his dad (an extremely successful HS coach in Washington) when he was about 10 years old. And was known at BSU as a complete film and preparation junkie.
And then nearly flawlessly ran BSU's offense with its multiple formations and personnel packages. And completed a ton of passes that were to his 4th and 5th reads.
I am pretty sure Chris Petersen would agree that Moore knew BSU's offense as well as him or his OC.

Agreed. He reminds me a bit of Ty Detmer another small but highly succesful college QB from a Western school. Detmer was ok for a few seasons in the NFL but was never able to overcome his size, but IQ has nothing to do with it. I think at very least he will make a very good backup as he should be able to digest an offensive gameplan with limited practice snaps. He kind of reminds me of a former very intellegent, less than ideal sized, career back up (that came up big in a few games) that turned head coach, hmm. what was his name?

I'm not saying he's a dumb QB or he doesnt study. He did handle Booster State's offense masterfully. That program probably wouldn't be where it is without. But with that said, its a long way from Boise States offense to the pros. If people questioned Tim Tebow out of college then there is definitely a reason to question Kellen Moore's transition to the NFL.

I'd love Moore as a backup QB.....
Starter is a bigger gamble....
If he dropped to the 4th (lol)...I'd pick him up as my backup qb for the next 10 years....give him a chance to compete as the starter...but he would definitely be in long term plans as the steady backup that studies and can come in on short reps and know the whole offense...Not a limited version of it..

I think Moore has everything but the physical ability . He just doesn't have the arm to play in the NFL . It wouldn't surprise me if he wasn't drafted .

Just because you don't like BOOSTER STATE, does not mean they don't have a very complicted offense, which they do. It is one of the most complicated offenses in college football, if you like Boise St. or not.
