Why not trade Spencer on draft day?

I've seen reports about Jenkins being on the block..

Why not trade spencer? Target a replacement for him and use Spencer to help us land another prospect we like a lot.

Surely Spencer has more value than Jenkins

I didn't even know there were reports that Jenkins was on the block. I must have missed those.

I'm not sure I'd want to trade him just to draft his replacement unless I was pretty dang close to certain that the replacement was a sure fire upgrade.

Guys who need new contracts generally do not garner much interest from anyone except Jerry Jones.

I believe Spencer has to sign his franchise tag before he can be traded.

I would agree..but you also have to look at the business/financial side of things..the $$$ saved for an equal or close to equal replacement might be enough for the team to justify the move. Because Spencer is due a lot of $$$
