I did a study last year, and I suggested the average error in determining the value of a draft pick is on the order of a round. Arguing about the difference between pick 15 and 20 is like worrying about a drop of water in the presence of a tidal wave.

Some consider him special.

Add that to the fact there isn't a comparable safety in the class and yeah it's probably a good bet he's going in the top 20.

We'll settle this with a good dust up.

Barron will be the pick at #14 and he will wear #24.
If only Barron would wear #28 , we good

When it comes to victor cruz beating scandrick and Newman, that wasn't really on the safety. Megatron will make that play on Barron as well. Barron isn't coveted as an outstanding coverage safety. I think you need two very good coverage safeties in today's pass happy NFL. I'm all for taking a safety high and in the first round. I just don't see that guy this year.

One of the guys on NFL Network compared him to Ed Reed - maybe Casserly, i cant remember. They said coming out of college the two players are similar.

Yep. I've seen that comparison too. I don't know where he's gotten this "in the box" label.

idk but for some reason he reminds me more of sean taylor.

he played alot of man coverage it seems also. Almost like an extra cb, might mean he has coverage skills. Just watch the video. He was moved around alot. Kind of like Troy P of the steelers.

His intelligence and indicts are considered special, if that helps.
We need wins, and that's all we need. I don't give a damn about anyone on this roster over wins. I'd trade Ware, Lee and Dez if it meant more wins.

So I'd rather have Barron and Zeitler than DeCastro and Smith.
Couldnt agree more!!

Ok, I've been watching more on Barron. I've come around on him.

We need a guy with ball skills back there and Barron fits the bill. He's got great instincts.

The Ed Reed comparisons are a little crazy, but he definitely has potential to be a similar player.

I know there's a lot of smoke this time of year, but I'm biting on the Barron possibility because 1) we really didn't do much to address FS in free agency (just a cheap deal for a vet presence), 2) Dallas really seems to think the secondary was the main problem with the defense last year and 3) Garrett going to Alabama's pro day.

I don't get the feeling from everything I've read that Dallas is sold on addressing any position on offense with that first-round pick (but have a couple under consideration if the defensive players the Cowboys want are gone).

I can't knock the Barron pick if Dallas chooses to go that way although I do prefer DeCastro if he's there. And I'd be able to swallow it better if Dallas comes back with Konz, Zeitler or Silatolu in the second round (although I won't be surprised if that ends up being a defensive pick as well).
"'Room' always makes me chuckle. That's irrelevant. What we have on a given day really doesn't relate to what you're ultimately going to have and how you're going to manage."
