Is this the future of the NFL Draft
with the salary capped on rookie slots there seemed to be more trades in this years draft than we seen in for ever.
Is this the return of teams wheeling and dealing through out the draft

You bet. Love it!
This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

Yes. With the supressed rookie pay and the length of years before a player comes un-restricted, going from 5 years to 4 in the recent CBA, you have to get a player you need to play right now.
As shown with the top 25 picks or so. They will be expected to step in and play this year.

I sure hope so! Although, I am sure ESPN was pissed when the show ended and hour early and thus, they lost some commercial time.
I loved the pace of the draft...I was keeping track on the spreadsheet but man, it was difficult to keep all of my windows open and still stay on top of things.

Yeah, makes the draft much more exciting, plus teams can actually go after a certain player they want easier now.
Let's hope this continues.

You know what Jerry is thinking....

"Can we get Drew Bledsoe back out here just for a week, so you guys can fall back in love with Tony? Let's sign Drew Bledsoe back for a week. Because sometimes when you have a pretty girl for so long, you forget how pretty she is. But when you put an ugly girl next to her, 'Oh, no, I'm really doing well.' And maybe we need to bring Drew back, so we can back to 'Oh, no, we're really doing well.'"

If this is the norm the nfl draft ratings will shoot through the roof
