Default ESPND: Dez Bryant case goes to Dallas DA

By Tim MacMahon | ESPNDallas.com

The DeSoto, Texas, police department will file the Class A misdemeanor family violence charge against Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant with the Dallas County district attorney's office Friday, DeSoto captain Ron Smith said.

Smith, DeSoto's public information officer, said the police department has concluded its investigation and has opted to move forward with the charges.
"We're done with our work," Smith said. "We'll file with the district attorney's office and they'll take it from there."

Royce West, Bryant's attorney, did not immediately return a message requesting comment Friday.

Yep, the players and coaches are going to love talking about this repeatedly throughout training camp. It'll be awesome.

ah...c'mon....he's just a kid...Cowboy players are always the targets of bad press...so he got tossed out of a shopping mall...and hey, Deion is a schmuck...and hey, so he didn't pay a few bills...he's a kid...

Wrong.

He better get his act together in a hurry or he's going to be the next great waste of talent story.
RIP Santiago

No surprise. They couldn't dismiss the case.
Did you know there are only 5000 Snow Leopards in the wild now and they are confined to Central Asia? However, the effective global population (those likely to reproduce) is less than half that number.

Ah yes, there's always some alternative motive in play.

Curious though how a guy furthers his own career by bringing charges against one of the favorite players on the most popular team in his state.

Well I don't believe this will go much further honestly... From a few reports his mother is already backing off charges against him.

Its crazy how many NFL players have been arrested this off season. Not only since the off season began but in the last few weeks. You have guys like Kenny Britt that have been arrested 4 times in their life. Elvis Dumervil for assault with a deadly weapon. (I just know heard of this, it's a felony) Numerous players busted for weed and DUI. Yet the one that draws all the media attention is a Cowboy named Dez. Not excusing his actions but for having domestic problems that pretty much any man has had. Be it with his wife, his siblings, his in-laws, or uncle creppy. We have all been there. Just goes to show the Dallas Cowboys still draw in the ratings and keep the national media's wheels turning.

?????

Wanna take a poll about this here on the Zone? You're suggesting the vast majority of men have been charged with misdemeanor domestic violence????

Get with the program. Dez Bryant is a victim.

We'll settle this with a good dust up.

Charged with hitting their mothers to boot.
We tell the team we have to move on from success" JG Oh how they have done that.

I know that when we do not have the kind of success, when we don't have expectations lived up to, the one that should get the most heat is the one that ultimately makes the decisions, period, with the Dallas Cowboys. And that's me."

FYI-- I know Royce pretty well. Tried a case against him and talk to him at social events. He's a typical politician. Not a great attorney but knows how to work connections. One of his tightest connections is with Craig Watkins, the Dallas DA.

In short, Royce can and probably will kill this with Craig at the DAs office.
