part of that is the age of the posters, but at the same time, I am pretty certain that even our scrubs are faster, stronger and in better shape than the guys who played in 60s and 70s.

I understand the nostalgia factor, and the notion that there were better cowboys, per se, but anyone who doesnt hvae deion on the list is crazy.

Nope. Everson,Thurman,Renfro were better IMO. They actually tackled thats part of this game. And Everson picked off passes like they were candy.

Swap in Clay Shiver at center and Dwayne Goodrich for Edwards and you may have something here...

Deion is the #1 athlete of all time. A Cowboys list lacking him is an insult. Plus the guy is smart.
He is currently worth about $250m and going through a divorce. He is one of the few athletes that took their income and turned it into a fortune.

So youre saying that, at best, deion was the 4th best corner ever? I cant get on board with that no way no how lol
Also, while theres some validity to the idea that deion didnt tackle, its largely exaggerated. He stuck his hat in there when he had to. Besides, he was SUCH a good cover corner that d coordinators could be flexible enough to compensate

We get in these discussions about Deion, and I always say he's the best player ever to play for the Cowboys and one of the best to ever play the game. There are two Cowboys players who consistently make the All-Time NFL teams - Sanders and Lilly.

Interesting little fact, assuming pro football reference is correct, Deion forced 10 fumbles in his career and averaged 30 tackles, give or take, per season. The tackle numbers are brought down significantly by years where he missed games, particularly 93 and 95, and 04 and 05 he only played situationall for Balt. which really decreased his tackle numbers.
Everson Walls never forced a fumble, again, according to PFR.
For a tackling comparison, Nnamdi has a smaller average and has never had more than 55 tackles in a season. Deion had 66 in 1992, despite only playing in 13 games.

Deion had 53 and hardly ever got thrown at...and forced 10 fumbles...and had 10 defensive touchdowns.
Walls had a better career as a Cowboy, no doubt. But he wasn't Deion.
