Twitter Garrett PC and Practice Tweets - 10/10/12

Carlos A. Mendez ‏@calexmendez
Garrett lists guys getting 'physically beaten' as one reason running game has not been good last three games.

Clarence Hill ‏@clarencehilljr
Garrett said he anticipates dunbar working on kickoff returns against the Ravens. That's as step in the right direction

mike fisher ‏@fishsports
Unless Redball Misheard the question@ hes suggesting Dunbar will get shot at #cowboys KR v #Ravens

Just asked Garrett 1-on-1 abt Felix/Dunbar .. He did NOT intend to say Dunbar is replacing Felix on KR. #Cowboys

Tom Orsborn ‏@tom_orsborn
Best news tidbit out of Garrett presser: He expects Dunbar to be active Sunday, seeing time on kickoff returns.

Felix showed more speed and burst this last game. Of course the sample size was very low so......

I'd like to see what Dunbar has on kick returns and I'd love to see him get a pass or few in space.
Did you know there are only 5000 Snow Leopards in the wild now and they are confined to Central Asia? However, the effective global population (those likely to reproduce) is less than half that number.

no. not as in physically beaten down due to playing. he means getting physcially beaten during plays. as in, the scheme and/or play calls are OK, but the dudes just suck and are getting beat by their opponent.

Come on! That's not fair. More than a few have said Garrett's practices are more intense and physical than Wade's. The point is they are getting physically beat and that's more on player selection, maybe offseason training, and the coaches primarily position coaches although Garrett has to have a hand in that, too.

Carlos A. Mendez ‏@calexmendez
Garrett says Kenyon Coleman, back from injury this week, is a guy who 'makes more plays than people maybe give him credit for.'

Clarence Hill ‏@clarencehilljr
Ray Lewis said he never thought about leaving Baltimore when he was a free agent..so there was no chance he was coming to Dallas.

Ray Lewis said he would like to talk to Dez Bryant and see where his head is, possibly offer leadership and advice

Ray Lewis said Cowboys woeful run game shouldn't look to get well against the Ravens. "it ain't going to be what they think its going to be"

Jon Machota ‏@jonmachota
Ray Lewis on Dez Bryant: "He's a person that I've said I'd definitely like to rap with for a minute, just kind of see where his head is."

It would be great to have someone with this sort of leadership on our team.

Of course, there aren't many in the league like him

Trent Dilfer: "Tony [Romo] has greatness in him. I think when you talk to other people that really play the quarterback position, there's a few guys that really have incredible greatness in them, and Tony is one of them. I think the issue here is he needs more help from his teammates. I think they are not nearly as talented as people say they are, from 1 to 53. I'm talking about the total roster.”

Cowboys delaying start of practice period open to media. Now 15 minutes later. Just enough time to get some kickoff work in?

They OL don't execute well in 2 ways:

First, on some plays, they flat out miss their assignments. that's mental.

Second, on other plays, they engage the right defenders but then the defense wins the battle.

My question what that second part is how much of it is truly physical -- meaning that they get outpowered, strength-wise by the defense -- versus mental - meaning that they lose the battle because of poor technique, leverage, hand placement, etc.

That's the right, tough follow-up question to be asking the head coach when he says the OL gets beaten phusically. Unfortunatley we cna nver count on the Dallas local media to think of and ask these tough follow-up questions.

Man I really wish Ray Lewis was on this football team. Not only a great player, but possibly even better of a leader.

I'd take their coach over ours too.

Who the hell even brought coaching up? It's like you go out of your way to complain about Garrett. No that is exactly what you do. He's our coach right now. Get over it. Give him an offensive line and see how this team does. You expect him to be able to do anything with a high school level offensive line really?
