Surprised me Holgorsen didn't adjust to what TT was doing defensively.
Geno was not sharp at all. He had an off day.
You can say what you want about the defense, but in the first half and in the 3rd quarter they had both a turnover and forced a punt in back-to-back posessions and the offense did nothing.
In the first half it would have made a difference, maybe not in the second half, but you never know.

I don't think it was a coincidence that there was a Walking Dead marathon on yesterday.
This game was like our Syracuse game.
A game we should have won going into but got our butts stomped in...eerily similar down to the TE making huge plays all day.

Nothing at all surprising about it.
The programs make more money playing in Dallas and it gets them more recruiting exposure. EVERY team in the country wants to play in Dallas.

various: I was hoping Tech would play well and they obviously did. Getting the running game going was huge.
I have advocated WVU as best team in the country. I was obviously wrong there. They learned what OU did last year about Tech. This group gets up for big games.
WVU was in that trap game scenario. Sandwiched between UT and KST was a team picked 9th in pre-season. Tech may well have a better team than both, BTW. KST is more well-coached and may be harder to beat but Tech has more actual talent.
It would shock me exactly zero if WVU beats KST.
The Big 12 is very, very good folks. 9 teams deep and strong all the way through.

Let's lay off the personal attacks, and keep it civil, people.
"Many of the greatest things man has achieved are not the result of consciously directed thought, and still less the product of a deliberately coordinated effort of many individuals, but of a process in which the individual plays a part which he can never fully understand." - Friedrich Hayek

The TE here, Jace Amaro, is a future R1 draft choice. He is a phenomenal athlete. He is a true sophomore who they never even considered red-shirting.
I like WVU a lot but there isn't a player on that defense that can cover Amaro. He is 6'5" and runs a legit 4.6. He is very much like Gronk for the Pats. Tech just has to learn to use him.
Unhfortunately, he got banged up and may miss a game or so... a huge loss for Tech. We have no one anywhere close to him as a back up.

I was a skeptic about Tech's defensive prowess but I might have to reconsider, though I still count Lubbock the greatest home field advantage in the Big 12.
