Kevin Kowalski spent most of his first practice at center. Kowalski had been expected to compete with Phil Costa for the starting center job before training camp began, but he developed a severe case of tendinitis in his ankle that required surgery.
On Wednesday, Kowalski practiced for the first time this season as the Cowboys activated him from the physically unable to perform list.
"It's mainly making sure you’re just getting back into it, the speed of the game, all that stuff," Kowalski said. "Obviously, a lot to adjust to, and a lot to improve once you get a look at that film."
