Strong rumors abound that there will be a presser this Sat in Fayetteville where Jon Gruden will be announced as the coach for the Razorbacks at 6 mil! yes 6mil a year!!!! Did Jerry kick in some money to keep him out of Philthy?

I thought Vanderbilt coach James Franklin was leading the pack for the Arkansas job?
Also thought Gruden was being more closely linked to Tennessee due to his wife's connection to the University? She grew up in East TN and was a cheerleader at Tennessee.

Wow, this is getting interesting!

Quote:
Tennessee chancellor Jimmy Cheek announced that the school would reinvest $18 million in the athletic department over the next three years, giving the department a much-needed boost in funds as the school transitions to a new coaching staff.
Before the reinvestment, the $18 million was earmarked for the academic scholarships, fellowships and programs.

From the surface it looks like there could be a huge bidding war for Gruden. If a coach can make upwards of 6 mil a year for 12 games a season why would you even want a NFL job? This is beyond crazy and one of these schools is about to make a huge hire and make Gruden the highest paid college coach ever.

Holy moly. It's good to be Chuckie I guess.
This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

Yeah, I'm going to miss the wonderful insight. Such winners like "Keven Ogletree is really a number 1 receiver in this league."
