Default Got money burning a hole in your pocket? New world's fastest jet

http://www.justluxe.com/lifestyle/ai...php?ref=obrain

Day-long plane trips may soon be a thing of the past with a new, supersonic luxury air jet prototype that is getting ready to debut. In a collaborative effort between NASA, Boeing, Lockheed Martin and Gulfstream the aviation concept is set to be unveiled at the Farnborough International Airshow in England during July. According to reports by Gulfstream, the jet would be able to fly more than 2,485 miles per hour— nearly four times faster than Gulfstream’s G650, which is currently the company's fastest jet clocking in at 646 miles per hour.

The airline industry would be better served with these planes (haven't looked at the link yet).

Flight from Dallas to L.A. 30 minutes...
Flight from San Fran to D.C. , one hour...

The airline industry is one of the most poorly run over the last few decades.

Invest into the future. Less pilots, less staff in general. Then you can add on as needed.

Personally I don't believe this is real. I will look it up. Thanks for the chance to give a random thought though.

People have a problem with sonic booms occurring overhead. If they figure out a solution to that, then they can have supersonic commercial flights going on over the U.S..

I went back and read the article rather than skimming it. It has more inaccuracies than accuracies.

2030?? I had seen some info on the supersonic business jet but never read much as it seemed like it was so far off.

One thing wrong in this info(from July) is that the fastest business jet is not the Gulfstream G650 it is officially the new Cessna Citation TEN at .935 of mach.
