Running back DeMarco Murray stretched and reached to give the Cowboys a first down that let them run down the clock before their game-winning field goal.
But the past two days have been so sad for the team, it doesn’t even feel like a win, he said.
“It was obviously hard,” he said. “It was a tragedy. It’s a sad, sad day for everyone. There is just a feeling around here. We won. But it doesn’t feel like it is. It was just so emotional. We tried to give everything we had, and we came out on top.”
The locker room after the game was a difficult scene, too, he said.
“It was hard,” he said. “It was hard hearing Coach Garrett speak and just looking at the guys’ faces. There were a lot of tears coming down people’s eyes. It’s hard. Definitely the mind is on football. It’s hard to be focused out there, but we were able to pull through.”
