Default If possible, would you change our DC from Rob Ryan to Lovie Smith?

from Rob Ryan to Lovie Smith?

I feel Lovie got a raw deal in Chicago. He had to deal with the Forte contract nonsense and then the various Forte injuries. He had to deal with a horrible OL that kept getting his starting QB knocked out of games. He had to deal with injuries on defense to vital players. All that, and they still ended up 10-6.

He will probably be looking for another HC position.....but, if he was willing to consider a DC spot, I would rather have him than Ryan. Smith's defenses get to the QB, create turnovers, score points, and more often than not, get crucial stops when needed.

Absolutely.

Lovie has been fielding great defenses since his days in St. Louis.

Rob Ryan did an absolutely incredible job of stringing together a middle of the pack defense out of parts from the scrap heap.

The job he did this season warrants our trust.

It's hard to fairly judge Ryan based on how decimated the defense was in terms of injuries this year. He literally lost the entire middle of his defense.

That being said, there were some signs of concern with how he schemes. The Seattle game in particular was very distressing. I think he gets one more year, but he shouldn't be comfortable by any means.

Lovie will likely be a head coach somewhere for the 2013 season.

In a heart beat. I don't like 3-4 Steel Curtain for Dallas who originally runs 4-3 Dooms Day. It's not Cowboys tradition.

We were a top five defense when healthy...

Ryan deserves another year at least. This was the first time we didn't fall apart when defensive stars went down. I can't remember a time when we put another guy in and still gave our team a chance to win.

Rob Ryan is so tremendously overfed overrated - yes, we had lots of injuries, and it showed, so let's no pretend he turned this gaggle of spares into the 85 Bears. We were beat up defensively, and it showed.

Nine men on the field. Anyone?
